    Starting FFXI - a project about durability and love

    Hey everybody!

    Last week I witnessed the FFXIII trailer and I got all misty eyed and nostalgic but realized this: I've played every FF game released, EXCEPT FFXI.

    So I thought of a new project. Log my adventures in the world of FFXI, see if I have what it takes to survive, see if my love of Final Fantasy will endure in the online world (I gotta admit, I haven't heard much positive talk on it, but I'm sure it's not all bad), and monitor how the game affects me over a few days/weeks of play. I'm all set up to record and survey my actions and maybe this could become a regular thing.

    I was wondering if anyone here could show me the ropes? A friend and I plan on logging on tomorrow for a few hours to get aquainted with the game but after that we are pretty much on our own. Is this game still pretty popular? Is there a great community left?

    We're going for something along the lines of a Let's Play/Quick Look/Endurance Run with this. If you're interested in helping out or playing with some newbies with a taste for the comedic side of things, just comment below.

    Even if you can't help me out, tune in next week for a recap of my descent into madness.

    Also, Brutal Legend review should be coming.

    Eyes = peeled.
