I paid for it and I don't care its free now. I got my $10 out of it.

if you bought it last week i can understand being slightly pissed. I like many others bought them for $10 each when the first came out. I am just happy that i can play with people on these great maps again.

It's not that bad because getting SF on its own actually costs more now I look it up.

I bought the Booster Packs two or less years ago and here are my thoughts:

There were 2 things DICE/EA could've done:

1. Not release the two booster packs in which most of the owners of the booster packs would have to still play along with a very small pool or players and servers; Many not at all.

2. Release the two booster packs for free such that the pool of players expands to EVERY BF2 player such that previous owners can now play with more players in more servers; Some would be playing these additions again.

I can argue that with the developer releasing the boosters for free, the value of the packs have now increased for previous owners who bought them, especially since they got to play these packs about two years earlier. If EA/DICE considered to refund these owners, then they wouldn't have bothered to release them for free since then they would've LOST money, hence the value of these booster packs would have continued to decline for the owners as the player base and activity continue to shrink.

Therefore, the best viable option for us buyers was EA/DICE releasing the booster packs for free.
