Who does that? I've never bought a game in hopes that my money would go towards a better sequel. I buy Battlefield games because they're fun and provide lots of replayability.

We didn't set their deadlines. They did. And they have failed to meet them. Now that they plan on pushing it back to the middle of next year... why bother? They're fired.
Unless you have some sort of horrible disease and the doctor has given you only three months to live (in that case why aren't you in the Bahamas?), why would you write off a game simply because it's being released a few months later than what was estimated?

So now how many times do you let a company squeeze out a turd with the intent to polish it later or miss deadlines, by months or more, before you finally write them off?
Wait, so you're saying they shouldn't release a game before it's finished...but they also shouldn't delay the game so it can be finished? What are they supposed to do, get a time machine and finish it in the future and then bring it back to the past for release? Of course it sucks when our favorite games are delayed, but it happens with every developer, including the almighty infallible Valve.

I bet the shareholders are furious now that BF1943 is the best selling XBLA/PSN game ever.

Some people need to move away from Battlefield. No matter what Dice does some people are going to act like babies.

Im sure some people will buy it. Im sure even more wont.

Tbh im tired of being experimented on by game companies. I know the kind of game i want to play, and its basically the only game i really want to play. I really dont want anything new.

What i want, is what i already know i like. A proper sequel to B1942. I really dont want anything else and i have zero plan to buy anything else, ever. I would be eternally happy playing sequels to BF1942 for the rest of my days infact.

Put one out every few years ill buy them all, guaranteed.

No, I want a new ww2 title for the Battlefield series
And that would include any sequel to BF1942, which just so happens was a WW2 title.

And since i asked for a sequel to BF1942 (WW2), it will have ALL the vehicles this time. Not just some vehicles.. The reason i ask for a sequel to 1942. None of the Battlefields that have come out since BF1942, had near as many vehicles or the Variety of combat, that 1942 had. Again, this is why i want a Sequel to BF1942.

A sequel to 1942 will have Naval Combat and capital ships that you can drive. It will have 64 player minimum, 128 players if they really want to impress people. In other words, It'll have all the things that BF1942 had plus more, not less..

Imo these are minimum requirements for any BF game, if they want me to as a customer. These things are what set BattleField apart from all the rest in the first place. And each version since 1942 hasnt been quite as good imo.

I want them to get back to that winning formula that was BF1942, that had everything.

Again, I say that I want a Sequel to BF1942, because it was WW2. And it was the best BF so far by a mile. As far as size of the game, and overall variety of gameplay. And of course as a sequel it can also have all the good stuff from the newer Battlefield games aswell, like squads and so on.

I dont want a 1943 that is half the game that bf1942 was! Thats for sure. So yes they should leave 1943 to the consoles and make a real PC Battlefield game. Preferably a proper sequel to BF1942. Not half a sequel like 1943 is.

They should shelve the project and complete BC2 instead.

And assuming we have a long wait ahead of us for BF3, finish up 1943 after the release of BC2 and release 1943 6/12 months after BC2 releases.

shelve it, wait for the european maps that are going to hit console anyways, combine it with pacific maps and just release a full ww2 game dammit.

Re: Should DICE stop making 1943 for the PC altogether?

Meh. I dont really care about 1943, i played the free trial on the 360 and it was absolute crap. I dont know if any of the "changes" that they may or may not make will save this game IMO.

Their just going to end up boxing it with Bc2 as a "free gift" when we buy bc2.

I guess their having real trouble with the old frostbite engine on the PC platform, i say old because on frostbite 2.0 its apparently already working well for the PC for bc2, (according to the official bc2 twitter the PC tittle is still on track for march release, but then again it only take's 3 months to port).

Although it suks that DICE delayed the PC version, I do think it is mostly due to the Frostbite Engine moving to the PC. I'm not really in a hurry to get the game. Once they make a good pc version, then I'm sure BC2 will go a lot smoother and DICE would have learned plenty from their mistakes in 1943. I can't wait for BC2.

Yes. It takes DICE 1000000x longer to do anything. Stop it and work on BC

I think my idea of making BF1943 for PC free as a BC2 demo and to attract more people wouldn't be such a bad idea right now...

                          This is what should happen:

Everyone over the age of 12 should sell their console, and buy a PC with a good quality gaming mouse, and then buy Battlefield 2142.

Then DICE should drop ALL other development on ALL other titles forever, and instead simply add new maps and patches to BF2142 as the years pass.

Anyone who wants more graphically sophisticated engines or anything like that can be deported to China and re-educated in special purpose-build conditioning centres, before being returned to their home country, and allowed to play Battlefield 2142 once again.

                          There.

                          /thread

EDIT: BF3 might be allowed too, but I'll have to try it first and then tell you.
