The game is over 4 year old for Gods sake. Of course you are gonna see players dropping off. Every game dies off eventually as more new and innovative games come along. Beside that BF2 is still mega strong in my opinion. I can still find full servers with decent players and that is all that matters.

And you wonder why people don't want to interact with online communities and play an exclusively multiplayer game? People don't want to put up with your crap. Plain and simple. They want to play games to have fun, not to be berated by faceless buttholes for every action they do or do not take in a pretend world. If they wanted abuse they would just go about their daily lives and get it the old-fashioned way.

By the attitudes displayed on most gaming forums and in all games that I've ever played, you people don't really want other people to play. You want other people to show up so you can mock them and brutally rape them. The average online gamer is only having fun if he is ruining the fun of other players.

It's not that I blame people for wanting to win. That isn't it at all. It's how they go about it. Just because you CAN play a certain way doesn't mean you SHOULD. Sure, you can circle a team's remaining spawn and chew them up with every weapon you have while tossing grenades and taking the time out to throw in an "owned" or "n00b" from time to time. Or break up the monotony with a tasteful corpse hump while reloading/resupplying. That's allowed in the game, right? No one can tell you what to do!

Just be prepared to get lonely when normal people realize they are only subject to your crap for as long as it takes for them to hit Esc and click Disconnect. Then all you're left with are other buttholes talking crap and trying their best to humiliate and drive each other off.

This isn't something limited to BF2, it's prevalent in pretty much all online communities.

In real life, walking away from people who make one uncomfortable is more difficult. Most normal people don't want to be rude. Put them online, though, and things change. Leaving the person who is irritating them is as easy as "click."
