    Community dieing and shrinking

Well i see it happening, probably because PC has been left behind but im not going to go into details why.

It certainly isnt like the old 42 days but i have seen many leave here and i felt like doing it many times.I wonder if the admins here see the decline in numbers too.

I dont think many care about Battlefield any more because its too old and well Mod teams are doing it bad also as the new smaller Battlefield games are not supported by modding:dead:

just my rant on what i see as a dieing community:salute:

The community will be back full force for BF1943, BC2 and/or BF3. I don't play much BF2 anymore because it's too hard to find good servers now.

Im kinda confused why people posting about a forum dying is becoming a fad on forums lately. TotalBf is going pretty strong, theres posts everyday. Its just that, now, people are starting to explore other forums which is a good thing. Creating a post talking about how a forum is dying doesnt do much at all. If you have a question about why a forum is acting a certain way, just personal message one of the Mods

This is a weak rant. The PC community is getting stronger imo, you just don't notice it, especially here. Its getting bigger. Total BF2 is getting stronger ever since that "Unregistered guests" can post. Just because you don't see members, doesn't mean people aren't reading anything.

TBF2 forums simply aren't as active anymore since not so many people play anymore and most things that need to be asked have been asked.

            I suspect after BF3, we'll be back :)

Word....I've been around since 2005 and yes this forums doesn't seem as active as before like back in the day, yea yea, but like others have said BF2 is a 4 year old game. I have also seen other forums come and go, ahem like fever gaming that took half of the forum community. But look what forum is still standing tall and proud. Take pride in your community I always say.

It's just what happens between games. Unfortunately for BF there hasn't been a PC release in a long time (except BFH). The CoD forum is slow as well, but it will pick up come Oct/Nov.

                      Re: Community dieing and shrinking

I kinda got an interesting perspective one time talking to Stephen Solo from TNG. When I mentioned BF2, he kinda yawned and said "man I was playing that game when I was 14".

It was interesting paradigm to note because for some of us older guys, it was like yesterday, but for these teenagers, they have seen big changes in their life since this game came out so it does seem old to them (by their metrics).

We can all talk about the what-ifs for BF2. And comparing it to Bf1942/DC, yeah, it is interesting to see the decline. But what do you expect? Steam (and others) have really has walked away with the user base.

I miss the old forum days too. I miss BF2. But I don't game much and really don't have much time for any forums.

BF3...well, we'll see what direction the game can go with in the future. It is hard to say what the direction of PC games will take, but at this point, I think it can only go up (because it has gone down so far).

I'm sure I'll be back, that is if I don't move to a different state and have poor internet connections!

Yes, as many have said here BF3 will give the PC Battlefield series a great revive.

I left BF2 for ages started playing 2142 but have come back to BF2 and find it as strong as ever, even looked on game monitor the other day BF2142 4000, BF2 14000, the numbers say it all.
