That's how it should be, leave it for the ground attack planes.

Null comment since EF maps contain no bomber-type aircraft. Even if they did, that statement would still be highly debateable.

The original point I was driving at was how difficult of a jet the Typhoon is to utilize, between the twitchy handling, nose heavy attitude and rack spacing. Compare this to the MiG-29 (the plane the MEC side has on OSS), which is a much more stable platform for ground attack. You've got to be skilled to operate the Eurofighter effectively.

I thought Taraba Quarry had bombers on each side.

So? That's only balanced then, no total air domination. Ground forces can have some fun too.

My mistake. It looks like Taraba Quarry does have bombers.

It is balanced as-is, I never said it wasn't. You're the one saying that armor and infantry targets should be reserved for bombers, while at the same time preaching about ground forces needing to have fun too.

            Pick one.

I my book OSS is one of the best BF2 vehicle maps in the game. Two attack helo's really make it fun for those that always had to wait around and there is often enough action going in the air to keep the air-power a little off-balanced so armor can have their fun too.

And OSS does have both Mig aircraft, but I think it has two Eurofighters (I don't recall the EU side).

I pick both. If fighters are doing what they are supposed to do, mainly counter air threats, then they will keep those ground attack jets busy so they can't dominate the map totally. That, and balanced AA on the ground would make Battlefield 2 a 100% better game.

I agree that the primary focus of the fighters should be taking out other air assets, but that is not their sole use. They have bombs for a reason.

Mobile AA is more than adequate in current form. The only change I could maybe see being made to static AA is to hide them from the HUD display on the jets.

what if jets were a tad more realistic? like not resupplying ammo just by flying nearby the airfield. how about landing the jet and stopping it to re-arm?

Gotta be careful with the realism factor in a game like BF2.

The only major issue I'd see with being forced to land the jet to re-arm is that it would leave it super vulnerable to FTKs, which are hard enough to avoid at the start of the round. Many pilots would simply end up getting kicked within the first 5 mins due to all the immature pub idiots.

could implement invincibility in those areas, i think 1943 has it so you can't TK for planes on the carrier.
