I haven't been banned yet on TTP and that makes me proud! I've been banned on soooooooo many servers for simply "playing the game the way it is meant to be played".

Ever get banned for slow flying? or play on Digital Anarchy? Use an admin's asset and see what happens. Baserape on moongamers?

They do scrutiny non-teamplay and they have many righteous admins who are far from 12 yrs old, but even the admin population is highly scrutinized as well. It is professionally run and maintained.

I'd highly recommend you appeal your ban if it is permanent, their ban appeal process is easy if you speak the truth and have a desire to be a teamplayer.


BTW - No I don't get a commission for making TTP look good. Since these are the days of rare good servers, I believe positive reviews are good for balance.

I played on the dA! server for all of about 2 mins a long time ago.. and that was enough.

My clan was in this server and 2 of my buddies were in planes gunning choppers down and thus slowing down to shoot them.....

One noob in the helo yelled out SLOW FLYER!!! and we're all like wtf???

And then the discussion went on in game - apparently they believe that planes shouldn't realistically be able to slow down to 30/mph when traveling at mach 2 and since everyone loves it when people bring realism into an arcade game and micro manage their game server respectively...........sigh

Well that ended today while I was playing on Wake Island. I had spawned and gone to wait for a jet after the first two were taken, the first guy to take off was killed and I waited for the jet to spawn. As I waited, the first guy to fly who died came and TK'ed me with a car and then took the just spawned jet. When I attempted to alert the admins via chat (like everybody else does), I was banned for making false TK claims.

I have never seen someone banned for making false tk claims. Though I suppose it could happen if it was done repeatedly. But once? Doubtful. There has to be more to the story.

Please post an unban request at TTP so that it can be looked into. I'm sure the admins will take a look and if there's a problem with the ban it will be overturned.

I've had bad experiences on TTP.

I join a game, find out that both enemy jet pilots are 60-0 and 75-0, so I decide to hop in a jet and dry to take them out. I get TK'd on purpose, I respawn and kill the guy who TK'd me, and I'm the one who gets kicked? The original TK'er gets to fly the jet.

The problem with THAT is that you retaliated in the wrong manner. If you had simply reported the player as a problem, you would still be on the server. The other player would have been scrutinized and taken care of when the problem was seen. Someone else may have done just that... reported the problem player. So when the admin started watching the airfield what he saw was YOU making a blatant TK. And intentional TKs... are never good. You as well, should make an unban post and apologize for the intentional TK. The ban will be overturned. Simple.

And no... I'm not a TTP BF2 admin.

Eh...that's doubtful. Whenever I check their server it's seldom below 50 players and it's usually around 58-64. The only way their server will be empty is if BF3 comes out and everyone stops playing BF2 altogether.

Two of the worst admin'd servers out there. dA! being the absolute worst. Take a jet or chopper and you will get kicked. Complain and you will get banned. Go to their forums and complain and you will get cursed out. They also openly say that they pay to do whatever they want, and that if you stand around waiting for a jet or chopper you are hurting the team and you deserve to be kicked/banned. That is some of the lamest logic ever. The game is all about kills. I know some people who can do a lot of damage in jets/choppers, and if you're in an uncap trying to get a jet/chopper at least you are not getting killed and your team is not losing points so it works both ways. It's all so ironic since they are usually the ones standing around doing that very thing. They don't kick you for waiting for a jet. They kick you once you get in a jet because one of them wanted it. Also, they have had so many hackers in their clan they can't even stream to pbbans so enjoy playing in that hacker filled pos server where any moron with $20 a month can be a game nazi. I am amazed that their server stays full all the time. Amazed.

Moonlamers is another useless server. Pity since Oman is a good map. They have all kinds of moronic rules that often times didn't seem to get enforced, and when you needed an admin for a serious infraction they were too busy/stupid to help. Look, I know it's not always easy being an admin. You can't see everythng, you can't read every word typed, you can't always trust what someone says, (bogus accusations of teamkilling, etc) but at Moongames it just seemed like they had some really useless admins that didn't really do much to enforce their long list of rules.

I had a guy take me out of bounds in the chopper on the US side. I typed in "help, jerkbait is redlining me." I gave them the guy's name because I thought it would make it easier for them to verify. Three admins on carrier did nothing. How could three admins not see what was going on? On Oman the out of bounds is very close to the carrier so it wouldn't have been hard to miss. I typed it in 2 more times after I had died and wanted to know if they could at least acknowledge it. Nothing. The moron who did it to me was LOLing the whole time in chat. One admin stood in front of me as I typed and did the teabag motion over and over. When I called him an idiot I was kicked for disrespecting an admin.

Another time I was banned for attacking the carrier. I was actually at the construction site. I went in their teamspeak to ask why I was banned. I was told the banning admin was not in teamspeak even though they tell you to use teamspeak to resolve issues. I waited 20 minutes before I was told some guy who's name started with an R attacked the carrier. I was told since I was a regular on their server I should know the rules, hence no warning and three day ban. They did release the ban after I told them I was at construction and nowhere near the carrier. I was floored that that's how they kicked/banned some people. They don't even know your full in-game name before deciding to ban. After countless experiences like that I just quit playing there altogether.

That's what happens when people otherwise completely unworthy of such powerful privileges/powers have them granted in exchange for what I consider to be nothing more than a monetary bribe. It's a financial arrangement that cares nought for the game playing experience of everyone outside the inner circle (aka the admins/clan/friends of the former).

I'm tempted to say lack of servers is the main reason I practically don't play BF2 anymore, but deep down I know full well that poor administrative decisions and server "rules" (more like arbitrary limitations) are what keep me from coming back. It's a shame, because it was once a magnificent game. It's been ruined and I'm afraid BF3/1943/BC2 will fall prey to the same treatment.

I'm tempted to say lack of servers is the main reason I practically don't play BF2 anymore, but deep down I know full well that poor administrative decisions and server "rules" (more like arbitrary limitations) are what keep me from coming back. It's a shame, because it was once a magnificent game. It's been ruined and I'm afraid BF3/1943/BC2 will fall prey to the same treatment.

It's just one of the pitfalls of having all of our servers run and paid for by the community itself instead of official servers provided by the corporation.

I'll be the first to dis any bad servers, hell good special forces servers died a loooooooooooong time ago. And now there's so many IO servers in BF2, it's so hard to find a decent server that runs all maps and has no rules. Before TTP, I played on Dead Meat which is gone or was gone last I checked. Robert Reed's House of AIDS is on and off. It's 24/7 Jalalalalalalabad and though that's nice, 24/7 anything is bad. Good servers aren't even a dime a dozen anymore. Gotta cultivate the rare finds and keep em going.

Oh and TTP will still be full when BF3 hits, in fact their BF3 server will also be full, just like every single other game they host a server for.

BTW DurhamBull.....I too am amazed that dA is still in business.
