What would you like to see them do different for the PC version?

Allow us to host our own servers on our own boxes without paying a ridiculous monthly fee to a certain "approved" server provider for gimped admin access. This is all that matters, the rest is moot if they don't allow the players to host the servers. I fear that because this is a cheap game they might leave the server browser out and keep the terrible automatching system.
Yes. Especially for the rest us in the world who aren't anywhere close to Europe or the USA.

Maybe they will just redo the whole BF1942 game for the pc users using the frostbite engine.
Now that would be most welcome indeed.
If its more or less a straight port over then forget it. Bf1943 needs a serious gamplay injection. One step forward for graphics, two steps back for the gameplay.
I played coral sea last night. Never been so bored in a battlefield game before. At least in the 42 version you had other things to do besides just flying. Whats with not being allowed to parachute on the islands? Why are there no boats? why not keep the objective to destroy the other carrier? why cant i board a carrier from the sea? Why does this have to be so restricted? Why is there no freedom? Why?
Phew.

I agree with you there. Coral Sea, with its "Air Superiority" gamemode, looks like it was hacked on at the last minute. They still have the help message telling you to choose a spawnpoint even though no spawnpoints are displayed. Dull, repetitive garbage. I'm still enjoying the other maps though :)

Re: What would you like to see them do different for the PC version?
I haven't played the game yet but I certainly have some comments to make on the videos I've seen on Youtube.
Now the biggest issue to me is how easy it is to destroy things like trees, barbed wire, sandbags, etc... You shouldn't be able to back into a sandbag position and it all disappears into a cloud of smoke. The trees seem to fall with one bullet. I know they're thin trees but you can't cut a tree down with 1 M1 Garand bullet :p
Here are some more:
- Remove the red airplane positions (it ruins dogfights and surprise attacks) and add the F9, 10, 11 and 12 views from games like BF2 and BF2142.
- I couldn't count but I would like proper magazine capacities.
- Armpit height and above to the torso with a sniper is a single shot kill.
- No crosshairs for tanks and airplanes, instead have the real sights.
- Iron sights for all weapons
- Proper reloading for all weapons
- More game modes
- More players
- Ability to walk around in the landing craft, like it's not a position like the driver or gunner, so you can shoot and the only way out is to jump over the side or lower the ramp.
New game mode: Advance and Secure
United States Marine Corps
Infantry spawns in landing crafts which are controlled by a player and they can't get out until they hit the beach and lower the ramp. On a first-come-first-serve basis there are limited kits to choose before you spawn and there is a pilot and an artillery class. The pilot class spawns on the aircraft carrier and flies planes to attack the island. But he has a limited kit so he can't fight well if he bails out of his plane. The artillery class spawns inside the Iowa class battleships and controls the 9 16'' guns that fire each once every 30 seconds like the real ones.
The landing craft only leave when 4 passengers are inside (not including driver) and one can control the gun.
Imperial Japanese Navy:
They are only infantry kit capable (the 3 infantry kits). Meaning no aircraft because they are left to fend for themselves on the islands like in real life. The system is the same except any person can use the artillery mounted around the island. There are numerous pillboxes and trench systems they can spawn in to and wait for the USMC to land.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This system is the same for Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima, but on Wake Island the positions are switched, and the USMC gets limited aircraft on the island to defend themselves with.
To win as USMC, you must land at their beaches and take the beach first, then reinforcements can spawn there. Once all flags are captured or the Japanese tickets run out they win.
To win as IJN you need to defend the island from the Marines and remove all their tickets. 1 kill = 1 ticket to each team
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I can't think of more at the moment but then again I haven't played the game yet. As for game mode I have many of them buzzing around my little brain waiting to come out :p
