Everything BF game is having a sequel to it, bf2142 should not? No, I think that there should be a new Battlefield sequel, maybe 2143 or maybe some catchy new one. Imagine bf2142 in frostbyte, that would be excellent :yay: and i really do believe that we can get the next bf2142 sequel to come if we really want it, convince them that you will really want to buy and play this game. It happened for BF3, it can happen to 2142. We need every bf2142 fan to participate, please don't leave a comment saying something like "there wont be a new sequel to bf2142, ever." There WILL be a new sequel, and I'm asking you guys to ask for the new sequel. Just do it, it will help us get a new bf2142 sequel, it really will :thumbsup:

We have been thinking about BF3 ever since the release of BF2 many years ago :), it won't hurt to think about a sequal to 2142. Only if there is one I hope the air vehicles are faster, can do loops and the default color scheme has a nice variety of colors and contrast. The dead grey look for the regular BF2142 kind of takes some of the excitement out of the game, if you play it for extended periods of time.

That thread is talking about IF there is going to be a bf2142 sequel, im saying that there will be a sequel to 2142 if everyone riots about it, of course it will come out after bf2142, but its good to let EA know that we are interested in a 2142 sequel, if we aren't mentioning 2142 sequel, EA is less than llikley to think about it. Do it! 2142 sequel with frostbye will be awesome :yay:

if you think about it, 2142 was never really popular, it was sort of a bastard-child game to BF2, just like how BF:Vietnam was to 1942. releasing the game too soon after BF2 and implementing in-game advertising gave 2142 a bad rap and the game never really took off as it should've.

Agreed. They really need to revisit the Vietnam concept, because I personally felt BF:V was one kick@$$ game. The guns were fun, the tunnel concept was great, Cedar Falls is probably the best BF map I've ever played (a close second would be Operation Road Rage). It was unbalanced with the helicopters and the game ran like arse on the BF1942 engine, but imagine a Vietnam era game with all the improvements made since BF2/BF2142. Yum. :thumbsup:

I think if 2142 came first, BF2 would have done worse then 2142 has done. There were a lot of people loyal to bf2 that never made the switch.

though back on topic, while im am kind of a BF2 loyalist, what makes me not completely one Is im prone to trying new things. If you add a new faction or 2 (like the U.S, or D.S [divided states], well, im just curious to see what happened to america) and new weapons It would be interesting. I have only played 2142 coop with my older brother at an internet cafe.

I really enjoy 2142, and would definitely like to see a sequel, but doubt it will happen.

BF2142 is sort of an "add-on" game (in lack of a better word) for BF2, it runs on the same engine, with just a few updates and new skins.
This is the same as BF:Vietnam, who was an "add-on" for BF1942.

Seeing as both add-on games are/were way less popular than their originals, it doesn't make sense to produce a sequel to those games.

Perhaps the add-on for BF3 will be something like BF2143? I don't know...
