I really dislike how they always go back to WWII, I mean, WWII is over, it's gone, they should think ahead now. The reason EA made 2142 was because they wanted to make something different, now, they need to continue this to a sequel, because I can see a good storyline to it. And messfeeder, If you think a few people on a messageboard can't change anything, your wrong, a few people on a message board one time uploaded Wake Island, and now its everywhere. But i like the fact how they didn't make it those casual realistic games by adding lasers and such, I like how they made it "different". Now, I still have a lot of playing to do before i'm completley done, I can only imagine bf2142's next sequel of how AMAZING it will look with the frostbyte engine :salute:.

Okay... I'm pretty sure just because It worked for a map, It won't work on a larger scale. A Map is a Map, not an entire game. They only made it a ranked map after contracting someone to make it, Dice didn't make it themselves (as far as I am informed). A better way to get your Idea to work is by going on loads of other forums and convincing their members it will work, but even then EA & Dice don't listen that often. You are trying to convince people who may agree with you but don't see how Dice are going to be bothered doing it when they already have tons of other projects to work on.

BF2 - Conquest = Epic Fun with a small smattering of joy.

BF2142 - Titan = Epic Fun with a dash of Awesomeness oh and a spinkle of win.

verdict, 2142 is better. I rest my case. Kaboom.

^I'm pretty sure this isn't a discussion on whether which Battlefield is better, TBH they both have their good points and hey, battlefield is battlefield right? I'm not saying A 2142 sequel is a bad idea, what I'm saying is and a lot of people might agree, It didn't have a big enough impact to warrant a sequel according to EA and Dice.

To me, BF2142 is a dumb down version of BF2. For vehicles that is.

Jet + Helicopter = Gunship. I don't even have to click so furiously when aiming the TV missile.

Tanks and armors have countermeasures that very much blocks everything! While BF2 tanks remain dead meat for infantry and air vehicles.

The maps generally requires less running and less corridors. Most fights in 2142 are in the open for titan maps, even some for conquest.

Titan is a very fresh idea.

Some Expansion of 2142 are actually still popular instead of some of BF2 expansions.

BF2142 gunships makes me warm and cuddly inside :P [People don't quote this, I m having a epic moment here]

I agree, but in good hands, Doragon is a mighty killer against the Talon.

For average players, yes, Talon is easier to fly and more reliable than Doragon.

As much as I'd love to see more of the 2142 universe, I can't see it happening myself (but would like to be proved wrong), so for our Sci-Fi shooter jollies, I hope that "Section 8" can deliver the goods.

Given the current time table, DICE is working on PC version of 1943, then they will concentrate on BF3 and BFBC2. I suspect that there will be another Mirror's Edge sequel following BF3. Then they will be working on another console port of "BF3" like they did in BF2. Announcement of 2143 couldn't be possible until late 2011.

To me, BF2142 is a dumb down version of BF2. For vehicles that is.

Countermeasures and open fights? It seems to me like BF2 is the dumb version compared to that!

I'm basically saying imo 2142 is more worthy of a sequel than bf2. There is alot more they can do to game set in the future than a a game set in the present.

Everything about 2142 was better than 2, weapons, maps, game modes, extra kit unlocks, loading music, menu screens, intro video etc etc.

They should make a new game with even more weapons, vehicles and maps. It deserves a sequel. So yesssss to 2143!!!

I would love to see a 2143 but like Vietnam it was not as popular as BF2 and 1942. If there was to be a sequel it would probably be Vietnam first and then 2143, which would probably be more than 5 years from now.

I would actually much rather just see an update for 2142 then a whole new game. I really dont feel like paying for something that wont be worth it, and lately, thats all ive seen from dice and EA, games that arent worth the cash.

Yeah maybe like a new map pack or something. They could also expand the storyline as well.

Thats a pretty biased statement if you asked me. You can't really say that everything about 2142 was better and a couple of the "reasons" it was better are quite insignificant (seriously, myself not included but I thought just about everyone disabled the intro video). 2142 was more balanced, ill give it that but its all about personal preference. I for one prefer a modern setting but I would like to see a follow up to 2142 that has more changes that would interest me, however I have previously stated that its not likely DICE/EA is going to do that.
