1. Personalized unit patch on soldiers. 1 of the old Tom Clancy games had this. You formatted your own artwork to be used as a unit patch, imported it and then in game your character had that patch on his soldier. It's easy stuff kind of like the sprays in all the source games. Then clans can all have their unit patches reflecting their clan.
2. Don't go 1/2 *** on the vehicles. Give a nation their proper vehicle and weapons. Not a 1 size fits all approach. In other words no Uh-64's for the British.
3. More character customization. I like what I see in BF heroes but go further. Give players the ability to choose faces, head gear, torso, padding and legs. Basically you make a profile for each army and that's you every time for every game unless you change it at the beginning of the round.
4. Scrap the class system and go for a stamina based load out system. Meaning the more crap you carry the slower you are BUT if you want to be a sniper with a few anti-tank mines then fine. A medic with a shotgun and 2 AP mines fine, Engineer with a carbine and small mix of C4 and mines. You get the idea. Heavy MG's, rockets, anti-vehicle mines and sniper rifles being the heaviest items. Choosing those curbs how much other stuff you can lug BUT if you want to be an effective light infantryman with the ability to destroy vehicles that should be possible too. The more crap you have the less stamina.
5. Have a wide range of theaters of operation: jungle, snow, desert, urban and even oceanic.
6. fog levels and cloud cover. I've always wanted to see regionalized cloud or fog cover. Fog in low lying areas like you see in the mornings. A cloud layer that aircraft can disappear into to evade or will have to break through to see ground targets.
7. Hand held anti-air.
8. Commanders can drop supplies along with stationary gun or rocket positions. Different functions versus mere supplies and a longer load time on the weapons in the commander console but the box would airdrop in and a player could run to the box, select what item to be placed (MG, anti-tank or anti-air) then ta-da a defendable position. Great for rooftops or crossroads.
