While I never really cared about the padding thing too much, what bothered me was by having such a large percentage of the population sitting around padding, it took away players that would otherwise have been playing the game normally and filling out regular servers.
That's what I would like to avoid. Those I suppose you could say that none of those players would have played the regular game anyhow. I'd like to think that at least some of them would have.

Can't wait to gun sling again! K/P servers were so much fun, but I hope this time they just add a ranked server option, that way you can choose and people don't...

Every game with a stats system this happens in it, sure it would be nice to try to curve it to an extent, but it still will always be present.

Does K/P affect you directly? This is a none issue. Really who cares about padders. Stats are there. I use them as a personal system of tracking my progress with the game, sure I'm happy when I get high up on a leaderboard for some weapon. Let them pad, if EA/Dice really wanted to stop this behavior they would have taken proper measures. The truth is they don't care and it's not our job to play the roll of internet police.

stop it. we already had the discussion about whether it affects people. that's not what this discussion's about.

How about no stats? I hate what stats in general have turn the gaming community into.

Not going to happen. Stats were a massive selling point for BF2 and a huge draw for many of people (including me). Stats are here to stay!

Unthinkable! Without stats I'd have no way to quantify my worth as a human being. Bad monk, bad!

But Alex is right, they've passed the point of no return with stats, and unfortunately there will always be stat whores because of it. We all just gotta deal with it, I guess.

I think the best idea is to mold the stats system to encourage teamwork. Not sure how, but make a lot less badges which require lone wolf style play.

That's what I'm hoping for as well. No leaderboards - no problem. I assume the leaderboards only matter to the very few people at the top anyways - the rest of us are probably happy as long as we can keep track of our own stats.

If there's one thing I quickly learned in BF2, it's that being anywhere near team mates is a sure way to get killed by the bug I have heard some people refer to as "artillery" - I usually just call it "%¤#¤#"¤#!!! :censored:" though. So, unless they remove that...mistake...in BF3, I hope there will still be some badges for us lone wolfs as well.

I think this post is about Minimaster having a problem with it, not the rest of the community.

What if the awards for knife and pistol were really easy to get, so most normal people actually had a chance of getting them on a normal server?
