I'm guessing they will be either officially announcing and showing off some material for BF3 @ E3 2010. As for release I'm think early to mid 2011.

A lot of hopeful 2010s, but I dont think so. November 2012 is what I would say as hopeful and I would NOT be surprised if it becomes November 2013 after betas and push backs, and other games.

Too pesimistic. There is rarely a game in development for 5 or 6 years ... BF3 is in development for some time already and from recent interviews it seems that BF3 dev team is already big. That means the game is already out of pre-production phase and in development... My personal guess is: Announcement at E3 2010 or gamescom2010(more likely), thats reasonable time after bfbc2 release. And release 4q 2010*(low probability) - Early Q2 2011. (10 -13th week of 2010)
According to my logic and some hints it will be PC only**
High ammount of logical thinking was used.

*-only in case BF3 is in the final stages of development like bfbc2 and the announcement is held back only because of marketing.
**-year 2011 will be the year when old consoles (xbox360 and PS3) will go EOL and new consoles will be announced, previewed ETC. That means, game devs will be hard at work on next gen titles.

Hard to really verify something like that, especially since release dates may change as development progress, but it seem believable enough, especially if the guy is trust worthy.

Well i think we can close this thread since the official release is march 3rd (says EA via email for pre-order).

Well let me quote them

"Anticipated Released Date: March 3, 2010"

Maybe we should keep this open ....
