Weird crashing

K so i am finally getting tired of this thing
Sometimes I crash 10 times in a day or don't crash in 2 months
I can't alt tab or ctrl alt del or anything
When I load back up it shows there was an error but doesn't say what
Only happens in 2142 all my audio and graphics settings are set to different settings
And all the sites that I was logged into are now erased and I have to log back in
Here is a picture of what it looks like
Any IdeaS?

all you see is snow, remember it is a ice age.
now serious, have you tried to reinstall drivers? if not try that. also i can think of a dieing graphics card.

Are you sure you don't have a virus or anything *related to the erased websites*

the 2142 crashing could be related to a dirty graphics card *overheating*

It has happened with every nvidia update
I have the fan running the highest it can go and don't think there is any overheating and I am not overclocking

Check there is no dust in the fan and there is good airflow on the card. If worst comes to worst reinstalls fix most Battlefield issues.

Reinstalls dont work

Try deleting everything in this folder from time to time: My Documents\Battlefield 2142\mods\bf2142\cache
This will force the game to reoptimize shaders.

Also check what your refresh rate is on your monitor (ex. 60hertz, 75hertz) and make sure your resolution settings in BF matches it.

wait wait wait you your computer is crashing and those pictures you took are of when it has crashed? yes? huh that is a wierd one

cause i mean i was getting those brown death screens but that was from trying to overclock a bit too high. and with this you say that all of your browsing history is gone when you boot the computer back up thats kinda odd

when you update your drives do you use a program like driver cleaner or driver sweeper. old gpu drives can cause all kinds of problems.

fuc i'm getting this exact same problem now too!

did you by chance update nvidia drivers recently from windows update? that's the only one i can think of.

EDIT: i checked nvidia forums and indeed others r experiencing this as well. im rolling back my drivers.

I deleted all previous drivers and the current one
So I am using the original driver it came with
I crashed the first time
But has been fine since

theres something fishy with the latest windows update drivers or another update file. i couldn't fix this by rolling back drivers. i had to go back to a restore point few days ago. i thought my graphics card was fried but no, it just acts that way and is working now with the restore.

nevermind, the problem came back. i'm really at a loss for what to do. my guess is the card is fried and we need to RMA it.
