the hit detection issue with vehicles is pretty evident when playing on highway tampa. ever try to tank snipe enemy walkers? sometimes u get a direct hit and NO hit indication.

on the other hand, sometimes when i snipe, i get no hit indication but i still get a kill. still it's a pretty complicated and messy i bet when it comes to networking 64 people on 1 server so those "what you see and what the server sees are different" issues are to be expected.

well I notice also that no one here has adequately explained the fact that he survives 2 shots ..direct hits...coming out of the titan too,,in fact after a reload then 2 more volleys...yes...thats 4...anyone who knows anything about this game using the SAAW will tell you he's dead to rights destroyed after 2 volleys....the gunship shields are useless countermeasures coming out of that bay...yet here's a guy who survives 4.....his sheilds havent had the proper time to recharge yet to survive 3 and 4..so explain that to me?

Everything I've read about hit reg in BF2142 has said that it's based on what clients see.

That's why you can sometimes get shot while you're behind a wall, because the other guy shot you when you were still visible on his screen, just before you went behind the wall.

Thus, while I don't think Shurikane is being an out-and-out troll, I do have some sympathy for Snakeyezzz's confusion over the hit reg on gunships, despite prior arguments and illustrations having been presented.

ping isn't the only thing to affect hit reg. I had a round on a server last week where I consistently get < 30 ping and when I went to knife a guy who was lying prone, I chinked off of him 2-3 times before he died. This was a guy lying completely still, we both had good pings, and the hit still wasn't registering. This is a situation that has occured more than once for me.

Ok, Snakeyezzz, first, I admire that you actually looked into this instead of just accusing me of hacking... Which is what most people do.

Explanation for the part where I was hovering and you 'hit' me with 4-6 SAAWs.
- I was hovering, but I was INSIDE my titan shield. Your SAAWs locked on and merely hit the hanger shield. This still gives you the hit icon, but does absolutely nothing, as you know.

- You did kill me twice coming out of my titan with the SAAW, so I'm surprised you still think I'm invincible.

-The Tank shot, I believe others have explained, but I don't remember ever getting hit, so I can't help with that.

- You had multiple people from your team telling you I wasn't cheating. Specifically one who hit me with an AA gun, and said he damaged me 'just fine'.

- I've posted videos on youtube for this exact reason. Got to youtube and search "BF2142 Player Yourself." You'll find them.

- I told you my name had a capital 'i' instead of an 'L' but you didn't want to hear it.

Anything else you want to know, just ask. I don't show up on any leader boards because as Lloyn says, I'm not one of the top pilots! Hope this answers your questions, and accusations.

Btw the only reason he couldn't find you on the leaderboards is the way you spell your name - he didn't know beforehand. Nothing to do with how good you are as a pilot :) Keep plugging at it though dude, it's clear you've improved a buttload, more than enough to be a formidable opponent in the skies, and I guess you can call this thread a trophy as such

Actually he did... I told it to him ingame. Twice. Actually three times. He didn't listen though, so I told him to look me up on youtube. He said there was no point since 'I didn't exist'. At that point I stopped talking. It was actually funny because I had a TBG admin in my squad and he was about to kick Snakeyezzz because he wouldn't be quiet. :P
