I bought WaW and played it, but the crappy sound really takes you out of the game. I would still buy the game, but it would hurt the overall experience unless they give it some humph. As I said before in another post where I complaint about the sound and got flamed for it, the f-ing guns sound like .22s! M1 and MP40 sounded horrible.

SO doesn't ruin the sound. Poorly implemented SO ruins the sound.

Also, one thing I hope with MW2, freakin' have weapons that sound like machines of death! EVERY single CoD game has always had staple guns. Drives me nuts! I love the CoD games, but I have had that same complaint for every single CoD game, sigh.

Yeah, but is there any game out there we can all agree on that they had the best sounds?

I didn't mind the sound effects in Cod4 tbh.. Could have a bit more grunt though.

P.S. Have you got your sound settings on highest?

Not enough thought have gone into games these days when sound is concerned.
I think everybody should upgrade there sound cards/headset/speakers. and game makers should put proper 5:1 sound in game.

I do. I have a XFi Gamer card and I found downloading the control panel for it and cranking it up in that seems to make the best sounds.
