I don't have time to waste with you, Roger. You're wrong, and I won't expound in this thread since I've already done so elsewhere: if you truly wish to be re-educated (and believe me, it would certainly help eliminate some - if not all - of your ignorance on the matter), search my threads and you'll find the relevant information. Otherwise, keep deluding yourself.

      Re: Jets in 1.5?

Back to the topic in hand, everyone knows that the F-35 is underpowered compared to the J-10. Like one poster above said, its not the J-10 thats the problem, its the F-35. Also it could be the choice of jet that they've used on the map, why didnt they give us the F-18 to make it more fair in the first place.

I would like to say im a pretty competant pilot and would hope that i'd be seen as one, but i think even the best pilots in BF can't escape without great difficulty aslong as the J-10 is locking on and keeping on you're tail. Even after the patch i think the only way to avoid it is learning an array of evasive manovers and seeing how you do when the J-10 cant keep up with you because IMO the F-35 is defo the faster jet.
Another thing which you can do is say if you're going on wake. Find a server which restricts the J-10's from passing the arti island. Use this to you're advantage and if you've found you cant succeed on maybe a superior flyer just go on bombing runs and return to the carrier.

        Re: Jets in 1.5?

As far as soloing goes, Sloi is right for the most part.

The only slight disadvantage soloing has, is when you have to solo-chaingun, you have to switch back to the pilot seat for a second to keep it going in the COD. Where with a pilot you just keep gunning. Not to say it isn't efficient.. I can rack up kills and keep the circle going by myself... with a JOYSTICK switching back and forth between the mouse. I can't imagine if I was good with the mouse. Either way that little pause where you have to keep the circle going makes it a little less effective than with a pilot.

The other one is killing jets. Yes, you can easily line yourself up for jets. Front and *** shots. But with a GOOD pilot (aka someone you've been flying with for over a year) you will get better lineups because some shots are pretty tricky to line up soloing (not to say it isn't do able, just easier with a pilot).

When someone is soloing they have a reaction time advantage.. for obvious reasons. Not only the VOIP delay, but also some **** happens so fast, you don't have time to talk. Most of the time soloing is best for tank busting/chopper rape.

My point is, for GENERAL PUBBING.. Soloing is most of the time, better than having a pilot. I think sloi has no problem gunning for a good pilot.. it's just that his definition of good is much like mine.. and the main definition of good as far as chopper pilots goes, is situational awareness and weighing out your threats correctly. It's just that these pilots are so few and far between, you might as well solo.

The only time being a crew outweighs soloing, is when you have been flying with someone for SO long, and you both have such good situational awareness, you already know what the other person is thinking, so there isn't much communication. Much like soloing.

But the main point of this post is:

Sorry roger smith.. but you need to learn to use the AA.

The G2A missles do not miss. The only time they miss is when they start tracking flares.

Put at least 1,000 hours into the jet.. And you will know what I am talking about. If they DO miss, it's probably 1% of the time.. and only on the J-10.

A lot of the time, you won't be able to physically see the flares, and on your screen it looks like the missle just veers off.

The ONLY correct way was as someone else stated. Stand near the AA (not so close that when they cannon it the splash will kill you). When you see a jet, wait until the point when it would be too late for the jet to do anything about it. It doesn't matter if he sees you getting into it.. as long as it's too late for him to cannon/bomb you.. Then take 2 *** shots.

After you take the first 2 shots... RUN. Repeat in ~30 seconds or so.

If possible stay away from AA in high traffic areas.. AKA on wake instead of using the airfield AA.. Go to beach and catch them when they are leaving using that tactic^.

Sorry for the ****ing story of a post. I just got back from the gym and I have too much energy.

A two man crew will never beat a person soloing, it's true. I've been flying with pilots/gunners and it all sucks. Either the pilot is an idiot that wont line you up, or the gunner uses his chain gun on tanks, and refuses to TV. I prefer to get the whole chopper to myself I have a higher survivor rate then. Solo chain gun is simple and if done correctly it gives you 6 seconds to aim and kill before you have to correct the chopper.

If your in a chopper and you fail to see a mobile AA in time flares can only buy you 5 seconds to either kill or get the hell out, 4 missiles kill choppers easily. Missiles are fine add some element to dogfights other then get lock and fire 6 missiles. If that was the case no one would really need to know how to fly and follow a target, just spam 6 missiles and go rearm.

Bottom line, the whole concept of "dodging" missiles ruins air combat in this game. Missiles that flares do not thwart should hit their target. That is what would make really the entire game balanced.
How do you know i am not really good and just want the game to be better? And ya, i care if the game plays as intended. I enjoy sitting down to a game that is well balanced where the players get to use working equipment.

I am flying against normal pilots (so they are mostly nubs incl. Generals etc all nub)
I have no problem because as Metallica says I have a well 1200+ hours in jets. Thinking that 300+ of it is competetive flying(1v1) you can see why I don't have a problem.
I don't use any bugs, and don't call me a joystick pilot, I fly with keyboard(only)
You can out-run the missiles with F35 you can not dodge. So if it is a thing that F35 can do but other jets can not then it means you have to use it, duh? They should have written it in installation guide or what?

Just dodge, lose him , wait him dive for bombs, kill > if you have troubles with dogfighting.
Dodging or strato run would ruin the air combat if you did it in a competetive round but with all those nubs flying around why would you mind? Even I use strato-run and dodge sometimes in a round, why would I die? Should I die and wait for jet/get tked/be forced to tk /let a nub fly? So that is why I dodge.
My missiles usually hit , even though I have a 100+ ping most of the time, so maybe you do not know how to shoot a missile? Maybe not the right moment?
I say you are not good enough because you complain.
I play F35 always when there is China vs. USA.
I play always the losing team when I join the server and mostly team wins the round somehow?
            You know what I mean?
I do not complain, I make it happen my way.

Ok, so if youre good at soloing than at times you will be better than choppers with 2 people in, but there is no way that you can say that a soloist can beat 2 experienced chopper fliers who know how each other fly etc.....

I dont think that there is any way that you can claim that as its not physically possible, yes sometimes a soloist will succeed against the nub fliers but the only way that a soloist can defeat 2 experienced fliers is through sheer luck or at times very good skill.

By the way can we get back to the matter in hand, which i believe is discussing the jet inbalance.

Two experienced heli players can be great together and know each other's @ssholes inside and out, but if the pilot doesn't know how range properly and/or dodge shots, it won't matter for sh*t that two of them are in the heli and are otherwise considered great.

If the pilot keeps the soloer at range, of course they'll have the advantage... but there are ways around that too.

Yeah if the crew was in the same skill range as the soloer.. they would win. Depends on the situation obviously.. But I mean you are soloing, you can really only range. And you can only do it to a point. It works good. But not as good as being able to range.. AND dodge good IF necessary.

One problem when soloing and shooting at TV range distance is that you are very vulnerable those seconds when you shoot TV. If enemy has say 2 helis vs you or jet disturbing you or whatever at the same time then you are fu**ed :)

This video should answer the J10vsF35 question (Video NOT made by me)

I've made a video to shows that bug in detail.
Please notice that im not using Flares the whole time:

F35 vs J10 no change - Xfire Video

As you can see i can simply evade the AA Rockets from 2 F35 by start to turn when i hear the lockon.
Of course some missles hit, but the majority is just flying past me.

Aparently the AA Rockets or the J10 need some additional fixing, either in the agility of the AA rockets or the Hitboxes of the J10.
