Re: Jets in 1.5?
No specifics were mentioned in the change log, but I'm hoping they made the J-10 hitbox a little bigger and the F-35s a little smaller. Those were the only changes needed between those two aircraft IMO.
Can anyone comment on the "runway grieving" checks that were also said to be implemented? Does this mean an FTK won't deduct points from the pilot anymore?

Re: Jets in 1.5?
Ive tried the j10 in a local server and it is much less sluggish, and at the same time its turn radius is decreased. It almost feels like the f-35. Havent tried the 'runway grieving' part yet.
And they didnt change the hitboxes because they claim that the j10 is a superior dogfighter, and that the hitboxes represent the size of the aircraft. Anyone that has actually seen the hitboxes on the f-35 and j-10 know that it is just silly. It looks like the f-35 has a sail on the back end of it.

Re: Jets in 1.5?
Damn, sounds like DICE missed the mark.. decreasing the turn radius was not the proper fix. The maneuverability of the J-10 was never the problem, it was the microscopic hitbox that made it impossible to hit with missiles that made it so tough to deal with.Originally posted by NeptuneIve tried the j10 in a local server and it is much less sluggish, and at the same time its turn radius is decreased. IMO, it was the agility of the J-10 that made it a superior dogfighter. I don't mind for a second having a competent pilot out maneuver me in a dogfight, but if I get a proper tone lock on him, I want those missiles to hit. This is where the problem would occur each time.. I'd jockey for position, finally get a solid lock on the J-10 from a 6 o'clock position, fire all 6 missiles and none would impact. The culprit was the hitbox, not his maneuverability. And they didnt change the hitboxes because they claim that the j10 is a superior dogfighter, and that the hitboxes represent the size of the aircraft. The same argument can be said for the F-35, which has plenty good agility, but always gets shot down no matter what the pilot does because the hitbox is outrageously huge.

Re: Jets in 1.5?
exactly zone. i really could care less how maneuverable one is over the other. it comes down to the AA missiles and hit boxes. this is the one thing that made me stop playing this game. its not just the j10 either. if a missile is locked and fired at the right angle, the missile should hit the target. if its at the wrong angle we shouldn't get a tone. but what should never happen and does every f-ing time is missile lock, fire, missile fly's DIRECTLY up to the targeted jet, and then proceeds to peel off! it was really annoying 2 years ago, and it still is. enough not 2 play anymore.

Re: Jets in 1.5?
It had all to do with pilots getting better over time at flying the J10. Though the hit box on a J10 is small, it was it's better turn radius and response that made it hard to hit when it was in good hands. Having just that tiny sharper angle at the impact zone than the air to air missile trajectory could handle, did the trick. That turn radius combined with a nice sharp booster made it also possible to out/run/turn any other aircraft.

Re: Jets in 1.5?
My question is: Why the hell did it take them 4 years to finally address something that was widely acknowledged to be extremely unbalanced?

Ricochet you don't have to be a pro to do a corkscrew and that is literally all it takes.
Area51 the AA missiles are still broken.

Was referring to the change in the J10, although I'm sure that's still not properly balanced.Originally posted by Roger SmithRicochet you don't have to be a pro to do a corkscrew and that is literally all it takes.

Re: Jets in 1.5?
i know but the j10 and even the f15 aren't the direct problem, its how the missile interacts with their exhaust. if it can fly right up to the exhaust, it should be a hit. but that's rarely the case.

Re: Jets in 1.5?
so would it be safe to go back to air servers without ground rapage or is that still the case?

Re: Jets in 1.5?
its not safe as long as the angle the jet is flying can cause a missile to veer off course. they fixed it about 3 years ago but then took it out cause it caused missiles to fly in circles around oil towers.
