If you want teamwork, buy the game and play it with your friends.

If you want points for your teamwork, then play IO.
Getting rid of a whole class does make a difference. I personally like playing the medic class. They have already got rid of the squad leader and the revive function from previous Battlefields which has already changed the way the game is played. So why should getting rid of the medic class not make that much of a difference?

As far as teamwork is concerned its nice not having to arrange games with your friends all the time just to play a game. Part of the battlefield experience was joining a random squad and working together to complete objectives / capture flags. Maybe you dont appreciate this but im sure there are many others who do.

There's no need to get rid of the medic class if the regen is slow. I don't want a fast regen like in CoD, doesn't fit the game personally.

Personaly I quite like Far Cry 2's health system. It could easily be worked into battlefield with players being able to self heal a portion of their life while medics can fully heal/revive people.

Battlefield always had a sort of "serious" multiplayer. COD4 and others have a "casual" kind of multiplayer, thus the grenade spamming, constant bombs, and whatnot of the latter.

No, not at all haha. It all just depends what you're playing in CoD4.

Besides the fact that "grenade spamming, constant bombs, and whatnot of the latter." happens MORE in BF2 then in CoD4.

Just go back to BF42's system. Medics who had to actually use their medpack on you personally, and medical cabinets scattered about the map. No medkit spamming, and you didn't absolutely have to rely on someone to heal.

This is ultimately the best approach. Please DICE make it BF42 style.

Yes. I always played the Medic class. I would hate to see it go. And that would quell the Run-n-Gun (run/get shot/hide/run/get shot/hide).

medic class never made sense anyways with its ability to revive people after tank shells have hit them or falling off a 10000ft building. it will change the game dramatically but i wouldn't be against saying goodbye to medics. i've gotten killed way too many times trying to revive others and been frustrated a lot hoping my teammates revive me only to ignore me.

I think that the medic class should be completely rethought. Rather than giving them the ability to heal/revive instantly on the battlefield, they should instead:

-Have a vehicle for land, sea, and air, that they can pilot to extract wounded soldiers.
-The above would be for severely wounded soldiers or incapacitated soldiers.
-Have the ability to call in for supplies (mix them with support), this would replace the commander's ability to drop those, as you can't always count on the commander.
-MAYBE have the ability to revive, but there would be a delay (meaning they would require proper covering fire/smoke for X amount of time)

While it may seem a bit extreme, I personally think it would make the medic/support class extremely fun and versatile. The medic should be somebody who works to help his team, not somebody who throws health down for himself or whores points.

I agree Dice should try something different..

If you really want to change gameplay..
Make the game abit more realistic..
                              Promote teamwork for all players..

Then Dice have to use my new BLEEDOUT HEALTH SYSTEM! (intellectual property) TM, Copyright 2009 ;P

                              Now bear with me,

What the game has now is Not a medic class, its the surgeon class.
Lets say for a moment that battlefield soldiers are elite, and everyplayer has been trained to administer Field medicine to others. (not themselves)

In bad company there is gold rush mode.. That means there is a pre determined amount of reinforcements. Its an unknown amount.. But lets just say it equates to 10 respawns per person if everyone dies evenly.

Anyone that plays BC1 knows that a less skilled player who kills 2 people and dies 12 times. (have seen it abunch) can ruin the teams chances of winning the round.

So first you have to work the reinforcement count into all game modes for both teams.
Now that we have that as a (timer of sorts) for the battles, we can move on to how its implemented.

Player health is not shown in the traditional manner to the player.
                              (helps unclutter the UI)
Player health can not increase once it has gone down.
                              (one life per life only)
Player Bleed can only be stopped.

Health has no adverse effects until the critical stage.
(Movement not slowed / Vision not impaired) Etc

                              Players Health = 100 points

                              Above 90% = No Bleed
From 90% to 70% = Very slow Bleed, 1 point for every say 20 seconds.
From 70% to 50% = Medium Bleed, 2 points for every 20 seconds.
From 50% to 30% = High Bleed, 3 points for every 20 seconds.
Below 30% = Critical Bleed, Player will die soon..

Now back to how this could help with kill to death ratio's.
And the best players able to control the outcome better.

Give players that Help wounded soilders points, doesnt have to be "known" reward points. Lets call it, (LP) short for leetpoints for lack of a better idea.

Give players that dont help (like solo snipers) or that dont get high kill numbers, negative LP points.

However the rewards for combined Low deaths plus helping others gets you more LP.

LP = respawn % in the reinforcement count.

Instead of running out of respawns, A player that dies alot, and doesnt help prevent others from dieing, has his or her respawn counter slowly increase as his death vs teamwork, (or LP points) ratio changes.

So you would have to start with a certain number of LP points,
                              That,
                              Decreases with deaths..
                              Decreases with team kills..

                              Increases with kills..
                              Increases from bleed stopping..

                              Affecting Your spawn timer..

Of course you would have to test and retest to get the numbers and ratios right.

                              (Hides behind a rock)

PS, Yup I always liked calling in supply drops too, so maybe that could be worked back in somehow, maybe just for ammo.
