You know what, you're right. Now I am completely outraged that my laptop with a GeForce 6100m, which plays BF1942 just fine, only gets 15 FPS on 16 player maps on the lowest possible settings in BF2. I demand that they limit everyone else to playing on 8 player maps and player limits because it's not fair for anyone else to have something better than what I have.

Aye yai yai, you took what i said the wrong way. I just got annoyed by a comment by Ranger when he said screw lower end systems, when I dont have a high end system, because i cant do anything to the computer I use because for one, i am 14 years old with no money with parents who are partially anti videogame, so they wouldnt upgrade it. Where did i say that I want to limit people? I just said that people saying things like that can get selfish.

now i hate getting into arguments with older people because i always turn into a total spaz whenever i get into one. But i hope you READ what I say instead of one-sidedly Flaming me.

The fog is also there for balancing... or else everyone would crawl up that huge crane or hide on a roof somewhere sniping (I swear to god, sniping is too fun in this game)

Gets the game going, and makes engineer a valid class even in IO (hurr durr)

Whichever. I'm simply upset that this game is meeting such a depressing end. No other company can match Battlefield 2 for some reason and the people who hold BF2 don't seem to realize what they've done/ are doing to it. This beta is pathetic, version 1.0 BF2 has many times more players than 1.5 does. They haven't even advertised it in the BF News pop-up.

By the way, anyone who has the time should play 1.0 Battlefield. Remarkable how much fun it is, yet for some reason DICE found it fit to change to so much from then till now. The game is also much snappier and responsive.

The hit detection is loads better. It was unbearable before, but now you shoot you hit - awesome.

Also the AA targetting is a lot better too, but not too much, as to make it unfair.

Sometimes I couldn't join servers and there was no information box to tell me why I couldn't join either.

I wasn't very keen on the new map 'Operation Blue Pearl'. If you are the USMC it is very hard to actually get on land without getting blown to pieces by hordes of anti-tank along the shore that you can't see through the fog.

Overall with the hit recognition and other fixes I think v1.50 is looking to be a patch well worth waiting for.

No, no you didn't get any point across whatsoever. None of my concerns are answered nor are they even addressed by the mere fact it is a beta.

They haven't even advertised it in the BF News pop-up.

Then revert to 1.4 and wait till 1.5 is official. Do you not know what beta means or something?

From my point of view, beta is supposed to give you a chance to test the product before its released.

Have you read the whole thread??


A lot of people cant even play the game for longer than a few minutes.

You just get kicked out of the server without any sort of a warning or w\e.

If the patch was playable, id call it a beta but unfortunately its not so its a fail.

So few weeks fromnow or maybe months, patch 1.5 will be released and it will still have a **** load of bugs because not enough people wer able to test it.

I've got, I've got it!! DICE is gonna release the 1.5 patch with so many bugs that it will make the game totally unplayable so people will stop playing BF2 and finally move on.

so you want the return of the gunship helicopter that cant be taken down? do you not remember the immortal transport heli squads of engineers and medics?

I have to laugh every time I read that. Immortal? Hardly. Powerful? of course they are, as are real Blackhawks. Two vodniks or combination of vodnik/HMMV can easily take down a full Blackhawk with wrenches. You must simply adapt and overcome. They put those vehicles there for a reason with mounted .50 cals. 2 vehicles can chew through a helo in seconds.

Now, if you can only ban the ignorant idiots who, when you are shooting at a helo, hop in and drive away to who knows where!

Well, yes, they could be taken down, but you don't remember how hard that was even with multiple .50's shooting at the helicopter? I can still remember the days where you would load up a black hawk with engineers, a medic or two, and go on your merry way capturing outpost after outpost because the 3-4 engineers on board could repair that thing faster than it could be taken down while being healed by the medics. And hell, we'd even make a squad called "helicopter" and engineers would just continue to respawn on board, it was just too unbalanced.

Granted, this wasn't as bad on more open maps, but on Mashtuur it was game over if you had a coordinated transport crew, because they didn't even need to get out of the chopper to take the post. Still, I believe that EA should have found a happy medium between the chopper-of-death and the pea-shooter that it is today.

i cannot even find servers to play on. the only populated server i see is across the pond and i can't play with my horrible ping. i wanna give it a try but damn, i can't seem to find a server in the server browser with a decent ping.
