although it only says 5 i think hes trying to imply that BF3 is one of them since they were conversating about BF1943 during the interview but i believe the person interviewing him misunderstood what he was referring to.
It seems like Liu was just using a clever way of saying "NO".

yes, that's what it seemed like to me...he didnt want to just come out and say it because it would be bad press for PCgamer to print. on a positive note though i did see the buzz about possible jets in BC2 on PBF so all we can do is cross our fingers and hope its a much grander scale than BC1 was.....

I think, and hope if there smart, that they hold off on BF3 until they knock some of this other crap out first. They need to get there act together and have a full team to make a quality BF3, non of this "Yeah, smoking some **** working on like half a dozen half-arsed games. Enjoy!"

Heh, I doubt it
You realise DICE is quite a large team, putting everyone on one project is about as effective as communism. A nice idea which in theory works, but use it in real life and it causes problems.

Last i heard there was about 1300 people working at DICE, and i would really like to see them all work on BF3, if it ever comes about that is.
I think we all see BF3 as been the perfect game, with no bugs, glitches, CTD, or any other porblems, and with the whole team working on it to iron out the bugs there is more chance of us getting the perfect game, and quicker too plus BF3 is probably a game that everybody at DICE would want to work on.
My idea may never happen like you say, but it would be nice if it could

It is impossible to make a piece of software without any bugs, glitches or crashes. It defies the laws of programming :p
But, you can certainly improve on BF2. If they had 1300 people working on BF3, there would firstly be not enough for everyone to do, other projects would get sidelined meaning that the pre and post BF3 revenue stream is almost non-existent.
In a perfect world maybe, in the real world, in a real business, I doubt it

I know its impossible to make any piece of software 100% bug ,glitch, and crash free, but with 1300 people working on it, it would be less likely to be nick named bugfiled 3, i know everybody at DICE working on BF3 is never going to happen, but that's what i would want in a perfect world

But, again i'll say, it's economically un-feasible to contemplate having your entire workforce operating on a single game. This is real life, you just cannot do that however much of a nice idea it may be.
This is a real business out there to make a profit and satisfy shareholders. Their primary aim is to make money, not to be at our every beck and call!

Incidentally, those two things are not mutually exclusive. If you don't satisfy your consumer base then you don't make money, ergo you don't make a profit and satisfy the shareholders.
However, the saying goes that just because one man can dig a posthole in 60 seconds does not mean you could dig a posthole in one second by using 60 men. Using all 1300 employees on the same project would be, like Alex alluded to, a huge misuse of resources. Too many cooks would definitely spoil the broth. BF2142 had many gameplay improvements over BF2, so if BF3 continues that trend and improves on what BF2142 has, then the game would be outstanding, and I don't think they had 1300 people working on either BF2142 or BF2.
