its called reputation and repeat buyers,i mean if you got 1942 and it was crap then bf2 would hardly sell.Only mcdonalds can sell crap and survive:p

Patches give support to balancing issues and the reason the do that is repeat buisness, you tell your m8 he tells his friends ect.

1942 has made them a great name so dont you think they need to keep that up?

That dose not explain why DICE is selling crap, when we are giving away much better stuff for free....

I thought you'd know the basics of business Rhino. DICE are out there to make a profit and satisfy shareholders. Therefore they have to sell their products.

PR are there to please fans, not to make a profit, therefore you can give away your creations for free!

For a £fiver, i don't think either AF or EF were bad deals considering what you got. A whole lot more than McDonalds give you!

I do, but its still free when you said nothing is :p

some of you guys may consider that stuff worth a £5, but really, when you consider that BF2 was what, £30 when it came out? that means that the booster packs where 1/6 of the cost the game was, where in the full game, you get a engine, you get many pretty vehicles, many weapons, many maps etc and they are not bad quality, most of there stuff isn't amazing quality but they never went for that, where with the booster packs, you get a few new vehicles, weapons etc which are all, real ****, I mean I could make that stuff in my sleep... the best thing about them where the maps, but no one plays them.... All in all, there isn't anything like 1/6 of the original BF2 in them, and as such, its a rip off...

PR has probably outdone 1943 in terms of a full BH version

POE is a great game mode too

I really had no problems with the price of the boosters.
I paid $20 (Australian) for deluxe edition during a **** smith sale.. That includes original BF2, the latest patch at the time (1.41 I think), Special Forces and the two booster packs.

The only real shame is that I can barely find even American servers to play them on.

DX edition is great and all, but that doesn't help my friends who refused to buy them in the firstplace (seeing how its still $20 for both with another copy of BF2 and BF2SF). Releasing the Boosters for free now would actually not be that bad of an idea.

Alex so you don't believe $50 is a lot for a video game? Steam has increased their revenue by having 50% off deals. That has to mean something, right? IMO if games were around $20-$30 people wouldn't have to contemplate if you should get "game A over Game B". I wouldn't pay $50 for a game that lasts 4 - 10 hours, its way too much. If I already paid $50 for a game why do I have to buy an expansion pack on top of that?

I paid £25 for Battlefield 2 and feel it was the right price.

When console games cost £40, I really don't mind. I don't think £5 is too much for a booster either. I've paid more for a single pint of beer in London before.
