hehe i remember pre 1.4 apm's ... oh my lord those things would be placed at eu base and still take out people attacking harbour... still not as annoying as bf2 claymores... lawdy lawd i F*cking hate claymores...

Patch 1.25 made APM's god-like, they could take out whole sqauds... BF2 Claymores are just stupid but I suppose in RL a claymore can kill people at 60 meters, now that would truelly suck.

One of my biggest complaints is the ping factor. Having played CoD4 I noticed that having 300 ping made hardly any difference to having 50 ping.

BF2142's Hit Reg is a complete failure IMO. Like today I played Clanmod and I'm watching people twitching as I shoot them yet they don't get hurt :cry: .

PK-Rockets however are just :wall: I played a Mod where the pk-rockets were actually EMP and that was really fine and much more enjoyable.

Some obvious bugs could be sorted out but EA's response time seems to be running into the years.

Other than that I can't get enough of this game or well Clanmod.

The somewhat unbalanced gunship rivary of EU AND PAC had me annoyed the first few months I moved from BF2 Flying to 2142 flying.

I got use to it now and found ways and flying styles to deal with it.

I m a bit disappointed that EA didn't really fix it; but I m thankful that EA fixed the rocket glitch on the PAC gunship in patch 1.25 I believe?

when you have low ping in cod4 like around 50 ping, people with say 200 are a bit harder to hit sometimes. people with equal ping are always easier to hit.

I really like this game been playing it in the full version beta when it was in the beta stage and it was awsome lot less buggy then now its not that bad and I also been playing all the battlefield series games so I love the battlefield series games.

Well the hacker situation is getting worse as well as stat padder.

EA isn't doing much, look at the stat board of the idiots who hack others and have ridicous points.

Yeah, the game has gone to the dogs.

I'm just glad I played it loads and loads while it was still good, and not totally overrun with gamehack users and stat padders.

Tbh, I don't care about the leaderboard hackers. What's the point?

a) you won't come across them in game.
b) it's a stats leaderboard... I've got bigger things to worry about.
c) EA will (EVENTUALLY) get rid of them. They always do. And there will be more to come in future no doubt. And EA will get rid of them.

This and, whilst there's still a fair smattering of cheats out there (played on timeless gibraltar last night and there were 2 botters on, one of them madog - made playing... more than pointless), the game isn't over-run by them as I've seen some people claiming. Over the last few days I've had plenty of games on plenty of servers uninterrupted by botters, up until last night that is. I just think that a lot of people STILL get easily confused by a good player and call hacker, and those people are usually the kind who won't revisit that train of thought to reconsider.

There's still life in the game, how many years have people been saying bf2 has been dead? That's still going... I don't predict the same longetivity from 2142 but it certainely isn't dead. Back on track to original post - the only things that really disappoint me are:

1) idiot server admins (eg w8liftn) who admin servers badly. Plenty of them, plenty more to come to ruin your games if you so much blink incorrectly.
2) Generally unfathomable community, also comprised of many people who quite simply haven't got a clue. Shurikane once again hits the nail square on its head.

The community. Arguably the stupidest, most rabid and belligerent bunch of lunatics I've seen in my life.

BF2142 is the only game I've played where one person's common sense is another person's insanity.

And it's not getting any better.

3) The fact that getting good at the game (and by that merit, playing the game more) usually makes a sign appear above your head that reads "Sh*t on me", with admins jumping down your throat and nublets screaming at you to turn your non-existent hacks off. Playing the game more is actually a deterrent to playing it more when it gets to that stage :P Just becomes difficult to find a good game.

I can deal with most of the game mechanics, glitchy scopes, hitreg issues etc... that's just playing a lot and dealing with it via experience. I don't think you can feasibly ever be ready for collective community stupidity.

The game IS overrun with them (cheats).

The hacked state of the leader board is a pretty good indicator of the general presence of gamehacks being used on public servers I'd say.

Still, here's hoping the game enjoys a resurgence if they ever release the next update.

Not really.... the leaderboard has *probably* been done over by only one or two people with too much time on his/her/their hands. That person/those people make up a tiny contingent of the actual players playing the game.

This, and my experience on the servers tells me entirely differently. I could see that perhaps you're having some bad luck in choosing servers that might've been frequented by cheaters, but I don't see how that ever correlates to the state of the leaderboard. Case in point... when the leaderboard was in tact, I'd be willing to guess there was a similar proportion of cheaters to legit players then.

I just don't believe the situation is that dire at the moment, but as I said, all boils down to how much luck (or bad luck) you have in finding them when you're playing - that alone can make a significant impact on how you view the game (hence why you think there's lots of cheaters, and why I don't).

That admin part isn't even funny xD W8Liftn is such a F**kTard when it comes to admin... He banned me for not killing someone when I was gunner for him. Ep][c Fai|_ in his case lol.

admins like w8liftn should be banned from all future games. people like that just ruin the game experience imo.
