The Battlefield Portal revealed new information today about a new map called Operation Blue Pearl, which will be included in the Battlefield 2 v1.50 and Battlefield 2142 v1.51 updates. According to the article, Operation Blue Pearl is a beach landing map similar to Omaha Beach in Battlefield 1942.
No information on when the beta will start is given.
since it says beach landing map like Omaha im assuming it certainly cant be the Chinese street fighting karkand look alike map they have already shown us......unless they are considering that street to street combat map as a beach landing map...........and if they are daring to compare BF1942's Omaha beach map to the map they have shown us bits and pieces of before xmas shame on them......and sadly i think that's exactly what they have done.....ohh well....ill certainly be surprised if we get this patch before July anyway. thanks god for the mod teams.Comment

I think they took someones advice to not give release dates unless they are finished with the project, so the open beta wasn't assigned a date, probably to prevent you from whining that it was late.Comment

And 90% of the people am sure hate the fog, and am one of them.
Don't get me wrong, karkand is a good map but am sick of it now and the fog too, but i have done 800 hours at karkand alone.Comment
