If you really want to get a good K/D consistently, you must play as medic. You can abuse medpacks and hang around other medics that revive each other like crazy. If you play another class, you're just gonna have to deal with having a worse K/D, unless you're very effective, don't take any risks what so ever, or whore vehicles. Sniper is a good exception, if you can hit on a regular basis from long range.

Key thing is to have good aim and reflexes. Make sure you have a mouse sensitivity you like that doesn't hinder your movement. Second, good situational awareness, check your minimap and join a good squad that sticks together. Don't do suicide attacks.

But remember that if you worry about your K/D too much, you might be less helpful to your team.

Very true, the one time I managed to pull off flying under the gas station on Oman in a ranked game made the mig behind me think I was just going to crash and flew over, pull up and im on his six :)

          Improve K/D ratio?

What I did was, making boot camp in COOP mode in a local game. In Coop you can set up maps with e.g. 32 bots and train all not locked weapons, armor, and aicraft. Everything you mess up in here won't affect your career sheet in Online mode.

My first goal was to not get killed during a whole round. At first I only shot maybe 6-10 enenies. But gradually after improving my way to appraoch enemies and finding all kind of nice sweet spots and choke points with enough cover and getaways, my score got a lot better.

May give that a try.. sometimes though i'm just plain unlucky too. Reached 1 - 7 ratio in a round i'm playing at this very moment within about 5 minutes. Combination of spawning on top of an enemy tank or grenade and being shot in the head by those jump-roll-headshot retards.

Okay just finished that round.. with one of the highest tied death tallys out of all the players (12).

            It's infuriating.

I hear some say that it's not about decision making and I respectfully disagree. IMO you are putting yourself in a lot of risky situations if you're dying so much. Take a different approach: act like that toon you're running around as is really you. You don't want to die, right? Well, act like that little dude shouldn't be allowed to die and protect him as best you can. With that in mind, play some more...

Another way to improve K/D is to stay away from the tougher terrain maps like Clean Sweep. Big open spaces, long distances with hardly any cover. Loads of airpower flying above it. Best be to play on Infantry Only maps for a while with kits like snipers and specials.

A round of wake - Sortof.

Very nice flying in a F-35. I usually use rearview to try and help me lose J10's but then all sense of direction goes out the window and i usually end up crashing. I may do some empty server practice flying.

Tiger shark is quite possibly the best BF2 infantry player I have seen in my life lol. Recoil is the way forward!!! You watch tigershark, his recoil control is almost perfect. After recoil is very good, work on movement.

Also heres a great tip, use crouch to stand up from prone. This will allow you to instantly stand up without any delay.

Thank you, that'll be my video :p

To be competent in jets you need to be comfortable using both the rear and fly-by view. As you'll see in one of the other videos I posted (Firefly by Irishpride), in the dogfighting sections he spends the majority of his time in fly-by.

It's a good idea to do some practise on your own. Start by staying in fly-by view and just flying around, play some games like getting as close to the camera as you can etc. You should pick up the feel for it pretty quickly.

If you haven't already, I suggest you get a joystick (Logitech 3D Pro is what most pilots use )

As stated, hang around with medics. And sometimes, be a medic yourself. As medic, whenever you think you're gonna be in a spot for more than a few seconds, toss a med kit on the ground right next to your feet. That way, if you take a hit, you'll be totally healed in a couple of seconds - and you'll usually have enough time to kill the guy that's shooting at you.

Also, make sure you have good controls and keyboard. A good gaming mouse really helps as well. The aim points are pretty precise in BF2, so you gotta have good aim.

                              I've just accepted the fact I cannot beat J10 pilots in a f-18 / f-35.

I don't even bother trying to take a USMC plane on a chinese map anymore.

No matter what I do I can't outmanoeuvre them..
