Nobody knows everything that the new patch will fix but we have heard it might fix hit boxes with better hit reg, but nobody knows if its true untill we get the beta.

That's what all the hype is about, we could have something pretty good to look forward to.

The hitboxes in this game are why i dont play it anymore.It takes all the skill out of the game.The game would be phenomenal with better hit reg.Why would i want to play a game that relies on luck?Aim to the left of target...aim to the right bla blahbalah.How stupid are they to make a game that doesnt let you hit what your aiming at!

All I am hoping for is hax fixes, whatever bug fixes and widescreen support (which they did for 2142? Maybe a possibility). I could hope for more bf2142 engine related things but meh.

I hope they reduce the amount of time needed for tank badge, to something like the other vehicles... 50H for silver and 150H for gold. the current 100H for silver and 400H for gold is just insane.

I have just spent 5 mins looking around the net for that map but could not find where i saw it last.


But yes that's the new map, but i think it would have been better if it were MEC vs USMC.


Just i don't play many PLA maps, that's all.


But new content is new content at the end of the day.

screw mec, they already have karkand and its a real drag. and unfortunately there is no other maps to play. i dont even understand how jalabad is still alive today, terrible map! then you try to find a mushtuur io map and its either full, too high ping or some noob faggots with aimbot or spamming gaymores all over the flags are on...

great wall was an awesome map to play on IO. Cant wait for a real io map for pla, ak47 ftw!

speaking of which, i hope ea looked into the gaymore situation in bf2 - its pathetic when you are having a good time n then next thing you know there is 1+ ppl on the other team jus running with gaymore n nade in hand iso free ez kills? honestly, its not even fun at that point, i usually switch servers but options get thinner every few months it seems

All of the IO maps are MEC, thats because the PLA maps are to big to run about on foot untill you run into a fire fight, thats why PLA maps are full with vehicles.


Its very easy, MEC maps make for good IO fire fights where as PLA don't.



PS. wake IO can be fun sometimes but gets boring when you have to run 5 miles to the next gun battle.

Unlike 95% of the people on these forums, you sir are a genius!
BF2 would be brilliant with good hit boxes. Not just for infantry, but even for planes and helicopters. Imagine a heli dual where you do not have to aim behind the heli lol.

With fixed hitboxes, BF2 would still be a huge release even if released in 2008. We can only hope this is what the patch brings.

I can almost guarantee that it will not be fixed. Unfortunately I can't seem to find the source now, but I was reading a while back that the BF2 engine couldn't be retrofitted to accommodate proper hitbox detection, they'd have to remake the game from scratch.

Instead of hoping they'll fix a game they've been bobbling for the last 4 years, they should focus on improving their coding for the next set of games.

Besides, by now, the majority of people should be used to making up for the lack of a functioning hit box.

To fix the hitboxes, it would require a complete re-working of the netcode behind the game which is both costly and unfeasible given there are probably other more important projects on the table and that money is tight at the moment.

I, personally have never really been affected by these hitbox problems people talk about. Perhaps i'm lucky?

you guys need to adjust your latency compensation and the interpolation. im not sure if its still possible with punkbuster but i know people that were having serious hitbox issues would just use the console command to adjust the lag compensation and interpolation to correspond with their ping in the server. from what i remember BF2 automatically assumes everyone has a ping of 100 so if your a significant amount above or below that you'll have hit box issues. you can find the info on how to do it in the tweak guide, its worth a shot.

I'll play for a bit when the patch comes out, but since I do most of my gaming from a slow internet connection and the net coding is so bad, I doubt I'll be back for long.

That's what i was wanting about 3 momths ago, but it looks like EA/DICE have gone all soft and casual gaming on us so they can keep their BF3 because even if it were on sale tomorrow i would not buy it.



Am going to keep playing the EA games i have but am not buying another EA game as long as i live, am boycotting EA.
