        Re: Who is buying 1943?

I'll try a free demo, but I won't pay for this game until I have. If there is no demo, I won't be paying to beta test another game.
I think demos should be a requirement these days, as the system requirements aren't quite reliable anymore.
My GTX 280 is WELL over the recommended requirement of any game out, but I have to turn settings down in some games in order to maintain a playable frame rate. If I had access to a demo beforehand, I would have known that and probably would not have purchased those games. One example of this is Web of Shadows, by Activision. Coincidentally TreyArch played a part in this game. I'm seeing a pattern... Even on my system, it drops to 20 FPS for a lot of the end-game stuff. It's essentially unplayable.
There are also games that won't play on one of my systems due to the fact that it's hooked up to an HDTV. If I had known that Lego Batman and Lego Indiana Jones won't play on an HDTV @1920x1080, I would have never bought them for my kids to play with X360 controllers.
        No demo=no sale for me.

I feel that a lot of the blind faith in this thread will be turned into blind rage after 1943's release.

            Re: Who is buying 1943?

I've had too much blind faith for recent PC centric series. No more. I read a lot of books, and I'm willing to drop PC games altogether if they stay on this path.
The Quake, Spider-Man, COD, and BF series all are bringing shame to their makers.
Quake Wars, Web of Shadows, and W@W are all just lame. I'm really hoping 1943 doesn't follow the same path, but how much faith can a PC gamer have these days?
I really am ready to drop gaming as a whole. Just because I won't buy schisse on a PC doesn't mean I'll run out and buy it on an X360... I really do feel sorry for the consumers that buy garbage and don't know any better.

I certainly will - and I am sure I will get alot of hours enjoyment online.

Let's face it - for the price of around half a full game - it will outlast (hours played) most single player campaigns for FPS games for almost everybody who purchases it!

I will not be an early adopter of this game. I've purchased waaay too many games I don't play and I'm just not doing that anymore. I'll try the demo and go from there. At least BF1943 appeals to me where BF:H doesn't at all.

I was a big talker about FFoW and I got burnt pretty hard by that title...

I will not give a single dollar to dice again until they have a confirmed real PC title, not some console centric ports. Will most likely move to OFP2 or ARMA2 if they are good or maybe quit PC gaming totally.

Why don't you change your name to 'KnockEverything.' Go live under a bridge with the other trolls. Alex offered his honest opinion to the ungrateful community, but is man enough to admit (like everyone should) that you can't judge a game on the back-of-box specs and will give it a try. Come to think of it there is a lot of hot air blowing about from everyone about 1943 and none of you have played it.

Well I have high hopes for 1943, but Im going in with a open mind, a console gamers mind and preparing myself for what to expect. I hope it does well but thats just me.

It doesn't appeal to me in the slightest, so no, not for me.

Alex made a conscious effort to criticise a game which has not been released which he knows as well as everyone else will influence public opinion and deter people buying the game. Then admits he will buy it. And you call me a troll for makin an observation?

Ungrateful community?? Who are the moderators who discredit a game which has a dedicated forum for it. They contributed to this "ungrateful" mood. Dont try and pin that down on me, I am one of the select minority which is grateful for the game being released. Unlike all the sheep
