This is the source that shows Alex's opinions.

However, 1943 seems to have bucked this trend and has decided that a middle of the road style approach would be best: Smaller numbers of players, smaller maps, less content and more cartoony, less gritty graphics. Well, perhaps it’s a bit more skewed toward console play than a “middle of the road” approach.
    So dont play it

DICE and EA are using the popularity, image and brand name of the Battlefield franchise to peddle weakened titles to consumers. Heroes was the first game to alert me to the shift in focus of the franchise. Then came the announcement that a third party developer is working on a BF game for the Asian market and finally, 1943.

I understand the business concept of using a brand to sell, especially in this turbulent time, but DICE is diluting a once proud, famous and unique brand with games that do not deserve to carry the Battlefield name.
Again dont play it if its so diluted. Either you admit you are willing to fall for this "scam" and play a crap game because of the brand, or your a hipocrit. Which is it?

I believe DICE needs to reconsider its franchise roadmap and primary user base of PC players...but to carry player number restrictions from consoles to PC just reeks of the word "port."
Are you buying this for a console? If not again... hipocrit.

“64 players, epic battles, and not a console port. This is what we want, no, demand for our next Battlefield title.”
If this is what you want then PLEASE DONT BUY THE GAME!!!!!!!!

I'll try the demo out. Everything I've read in the last few days makes me think Dice is optimzing Frostbite before they make BF3.

And are those not the facts of this game? Is it not more cartoonish? Is it not less than 64 players? Did DICE themselves not state that it is a port of the frostbite engine?

YOU, DontKnockIt225, are trying to stir the muck and twist words to seem hypocritic. The article is opinion and there is nothing wrong with it. Thats what articles sometimes are, opinion.

I'll let the demo/free trial decide.

I'm buying it, I'd probably be playing in a 24/7 Wake server anyways. I really don't like the removal of Medic/Support/Engineer after they did a good job rewarding people for doing support roles in BF2/2142.

I'll probably only buy it if Dead Meat runs a server for it.

sounds to me like you didn't understand what he meant by "port".

will I buy it? probably not - but i will follow the comments.

let the consoles have their bf games - as long as we don't get the same crap they do.

I can only undestand the bad taste in some peeps mouths if there was no BF3. There is a BF3 round the corner *waves fist*, so we chill with the 24 player for a while

I never played BF1942 or 2142, and although I tried BF2, I never was able to really "get into" it. That being said, I thought it had a lot of cool things in it, and liked the overall concept.

I will be giving BF1943 a try. Especially if it is indeed priced around $15 as mentioned in the Gamasutra article in the News section. If it had been a full-blown $50, then I probably would've gone with BF:BC2 instead. But with a reduced price, I probably will try them both out.

The artical states what is wrong with the game from the authors point of view. He then states at the end what us PC Battlefield fans want, to show that we do not want this game.

And then he admits he will be buying it.

Perhaps I am stirring the muck, or perhaps hes a sheep who likes to follow other peoples opinions for acceptance.
