Re: Scope or iron sites?
haha, owned.
I think this poll clearly states people's opinions though. Granted, we have agreed it depends on the situation, but since this game has a decent amount of smaller maps also, or some maps without a lot of open area for great distances, iron sites are usually preferred. At least in this game, you can use a scope and it fits for some maps. In CoD4, you only had a couple of maps where the sniper was fit for the map. Those are the maps I had my 'sneaky' kit on and I would get tons of knife kills. :laugh:Comment

Re: Scope or iron sites?
Prefer Iron Sights, have done since cod1, never use a scope in it unless I have to in a match or something. Recon, that is sexist :o but surely playing in BFE you would know Pieman is a woman?Comment

it's not sexist, and tbh, my dad is better at ironing than my mum and he does it more often :laugh:Originally posted by {2}LtCol.Frantic[IX|SA]Recon, that is sexist :o

Re: Scope or iron sites?
Agreed. I think that's something they overlooked/didn't think that players would like or care about.Originally posted by Iwantcable1 flaw of CoD4 was not allowing iron sights on the bolts.
There's a certain special "something" to playing with iron-sighted bolt rifles, and if they would've allowed that even in a Modern Warfare setting, I think it would've gotten a lot of people (who may not have played MOH/COD/UO/COD2) hooked on it.
Maybe they'll include it, or someone will take the time to mod it properly, for COD MW2. It would help to slow the spastic nature of the game down a touch, but also increase the skill level needed for aiming without all the fancy scopes, red-dots, & ACOGs.Comment

AGREED! And I can honestly say that if I could have had some type of bolt action...without a scope, I want my iron sights, I could have actually played CoD4 longer. Agreed on your other points also.Originally posted by WhiskeyAgreed. I think that's something they overlooked/didn't think that players would like or care about.

The best I could come up with was using the G3 in my 'sneaky' kit.Comment

Re: Scope or iron sites?
There were rifles mods in CoD4, I remember playing some of them. For some reason they never caught on... but they were really fun.Originally posted by Iwantcable1 flaw of CoD4 was not allowing iron sights on the bolts.
But the reason the game designers never put an actual M40 without a scope is because... you wouldn't practically use one in warfare for any other purpose than long range accuracy. If you wanted something for a closer in fight you would obviously pick a semi auto/ automatic assault rifle. Its all in the day and age.
If they did it would have been awesome... but it wouldn't have made any logical sense.Comment
