Scope or iron sites?

Ive been playing with the bolt rifles and I go back and forth with scopes. I dont know which one I really like.

The pros with the scope is being able to see your little target across the map and having crosshairs to help you aim. The con is that your field of view is obscured and you cant see whats going on around you. The other con is having to hold your breath.

The pros with the iron sites is you dont have to hold your breath (which is kinda stupid since all of a sudden with a scope you have asthma) and you can see everything going on. The con is that you cannot see great distances and anyone hiding behind something, you need to be sure your sight is on the person just right to get the hit.

You can drag shoot with both, so I dont think thats too much of an issue.

What do you all think?

I personally feel neither is better than the other. They're both great for their own purposes.

All kidding aside, I agree with Micster. Depends on what you're trying to do, what others are using, and what game-type is running. Bolts-only with ironsights, or sniper-only are both a lot of fun.

Both serve their own purposes, but playing with a bolt looks cooler and is more fun IMO.

I think all the bolt w/ scope suck in CoDWaW except the PTRS. i know they're trying to realistic but I cant freaking shoot crap with scoped bolts. I shoot people standing up in the open not moving about 4 times before it hits. Maybe it's lag, maybe it's not but the PTRS is the only scoped one I could just hold my breath fast and fire and get them almost every time.(just like in CoD4) So if I want to snipe I use PTRS and if I want a different bolt it has to be iron sights or I'll be mostly using my magnum.:thumbsup: I just wish you could use PTRS iron sights because of its bullet penetration.

You can't really have a question like this without specifying the situation more or something. Scopes are better for longer ranges and iron sights are better for closer ranges.

Yes, but I use scopes in CQB alot and if it's really close I either quck scope, no scope, or knife. I find steady aim helps for no scopping.

Yep, that is the diff also. I RnG with a rifle, not joking lol. And, you get tons of knife kills also, or bayonet kills. As long as you keep your cool, you can pwn people CQB with a rifle or sniper. Did it in other CoD's and MoH's also.

i have 2 classes with the same Bolt-Action Rifle where i use one with a Scope and the other with Iron Sights, as there are many times when you have one but you want the other

I just like to snipe with my M1 Garand with iron sights, it's so satisfying to own a japanese sniper with it. I just get this feeling inside it was like...was like...BOOM HEADSHOT!!

i'm only level 16 or something, so i have to make do with a Springfield or and Arisaka or whatever it's called and i don't like either of them
