If there is a "big PC-exclusive" title being planned... it's in the minds of a game designer and not on paper yet. DICE specifically said they are working on 5 titles, and we've figured out what those 5 are.

Battlefield 3 may come out, but it'll be 2011-2012 at the earliest.

The fly in that ointment, however, is that anyone with their head on straight who actually wants a BF game won't spend ANY money on that rubbish. $50 every four years is still $50, but $0 three times a year is still $0.
Maybe they are going with the Blizzard plans for how SC was discussed being sold, as a multi-part game.

Why would DICE wait so long on releasing a potential mass money maker like BF3? You just know that gamers and gaming sites would be abuzz with BF3 excitement.

I'm positive that if BF3 were to be released, it would make EA more money than BF:H, BF:1943, and BF:BC combined.

However, seeing that BF:BC will be coming to the PC, my dreams of there ever being a BF3 are slowly fading.

Because, they have gotten reamed in the past for showing features and options that did not show up in the finished title. The community in general has been very critical of DiCE compared to other companies like Valve or Blizzard.

            Whose fault is that?

EA? I would say EA. Because they pressured DiCE to release in a certain quarter. To ship a product before it was ready to recover capital investments it had placed. It was about this time that EA had bought controlling interest in DiCE and shaped their model and support.

Yup, it's almost always the publisher's fault. Just look at Frontlines: Fuel of War. That game shouldn't have been released when it did. I feel sorry for Kaos Studios.

I don't really feel it is the communities fault. All the griefing kids out may sound whiny, but really they serve as a wake-up call sometimes to serious BULLSH!T that the industry tries to push down the channel. DRM with Spore? That would not have gotten resolved with out the outcry of the community with the Amazon action. EA putting game on Steam? That was after the community talked enough trash about their own ghetto implementations.

The fee based servers DiCE put out, advertising ingame, the lack of a Mod SDK...I am sure that is all EA. And we all hoped that money would go back into the coffers of DiCE for better support and development, but instead, the lack of ROI (return on investment)pushed them further to the console market. Share holders and other subsidiaries likely got a portion of that money that came at the communities expense.

One has to wonder WTF is going on over at EA. Still no word on BF3. But yet they can do 1943, BF:BC and Heroes and whatever non-BF game they can think of. That is worse than owning *cough, cough.... WoW

I will give it a try, but it still wont be the "NEXT" BF for me
