Digging BF1943 trailer for info and details :)

well, since there isn't a BF1943 section yet, i'll just leave this here :)

So, its time to analyse the video for every bit of info we can.

Seems like Wake Island isnt the only map in the trailer, Guadalcanal(thanks Elxx) is shown there too.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Here we can see a carrier, and it seems to be a bomber flying alone instead of in a pack of 3, in that video posted before the guy from dice said that one of the vehicles in the game was a bomber.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Here we see the carrier pretty close to shore, which i guess it means its not static like in BF2

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Here we see what seems to be a map in sunset light.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Here we see the green Japanese fighter instead of just the white plane of BF1942 the white version is also seen somewhere in the video (or maybe it seems white because of the brightness of the sun), also the M1 tank model looks alot more detailed , and there's a house with a big hole on the roof ;P

the US planes are also green on 1943.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

In here we take a closer look at the Japanese tank

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Also a closer look at the US tank

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Right here we have a view over the entire wake island, so we can compare it to the old one :P

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

That's all i could notice right now, if you see something else that's even slightly interesting, point it out :)

    ALSO:

    - Download Only at around 350MB for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
    - Price point between $15 to $20
    - Auto-Health (I think this means it's like CoD style regeneration while in cover)
    - Unlimited Ammo
    - Three Classes: Infantry, Riflemen and Scout.
    - Same destruction depth as Bad Company.

    thanks kaheiyeh

Only three maps? It better cost $9.99 or less. And they better not even think about charging for DLC.

New Wake looks bigger than BF2/2142 Wake? Or is it just me?

I may have figured out how they can use maps of this size and still have a pop cap of 24. In every Bf game previous the out of bounds zone has been static. What if it were dynamic? What if the out of bounds changed depending on what flag is being contested? It would focus the entire team on attacking/ defending one or two flags at a time and it would keep people much closer together. Or conversely, what if only one or two flags are capable at a time and can only be unlocked in succession.

Or maybe a Frontlines game mode like assault lines but all the flags had to be capped in order.

I wonder if its similar to the WWII mod of BFV? the 3 maps there were Wake, Iwo Jima, and Philippines. also in that mod, you could drive the ships around.

The first BF2 screenshots and videos had very little fog. Given the game is still some way away I wouldn't take anything you see in the trailer as a given.

The other maps are Guadal Canal and Iwo Jima.

Hmm, I was kind of hoping for it to be a more traditional in-depth BF game. I'll still get it. But I hope they will take time to get back to the basics on something soon.

well as long as they add free DLC later it would make the investment worthwhile for us.

and thanks for that info kaheiyeh

With the cost only 15-25 dollars I doubt they will add any free dlc. Why would they?
