I see a lot of whining about how the new BF isn't modern warfare.

A reminder, both BF: 1943 and BF: Bad Company 2 are for PC.

So, whether you are a WW2 nut or a Modern Warfare kinda person, you should be happy :)

You haven't even tried 1943 or BC2. They haven't even released more details.

Cool your jets until further explanation about the PC version. Quit the whining!

Anyway, 1942 is just too old now, plus, i feel BF2 has had it's day, we need new content, graphics, physics etc...

But from the limited information you can already tell that they won't be able to compare to BF2 or BF1942. The fact that these games don't have 64 player limit or higher, and are multiplatform, is enough to know they won't surpass the PC BF games.

Quality over Quantity. I would rather have had either BF:1943 or BF:BD 2 instead of BOTH! Let's see what DICE can do developing two games at a time.

Besides, I was looking forward to BF3 not these two games they just announced. Apparently BF:1943 will be a downloadable game only and support only 24-players? What the hell is that? BF2 support 64-players, are we going back in time?

Now, let's say DICE decides to surprise us with an announcement for BF3 tomorrow, what will we expect if DICE is working on THREE games at the same FRIGGIN' time!

I'm sorry, but none of this looks good at all.

yea i agree lets not assume anything until they confirm details. for example, people are assuming PC version of BF:BC2 will be 24 players max. i highly doubt that. i'm sure they will tweak it to be a PC game.

Because at the end of the day you still have to fork out quite a bit per game, so most people want their monies worth.

But 1943 is more of a Heroes game, only 3 maps, downloadable, and 24 players. BFBC2 will probably be an actual game (as in with a DVD, buyable in stores), but I doubt it will have 64 players unless it's not just a console port.

Exactly. But lol rockstar said their GTAIV was a separate game, and not a console port but look how badly it turned out. Yeah, different devs, different games, but the point is that if consoles are in mind when a game is initially being created it pretty much doesn't matter, it's still not going to be what a 100% PC-made game would be capable of.

There's supposedly a DX10 version of Frostbite. If that's true, and DX10 is not featured in the PC version of BF:BC2 or BF1943, then there will be no doubt that they are nothing but console ports.

i totally agree with alex on this, we have 2 games on both theatres of war, and we have very little detail on them.


or like diablofans.com whining after the announcement of diablo 3 and its new graphics :P (okay not as bad as this but still...)

I just got this feeling that with the small size of Battlefield 1943, it will act as a sort of "testing ground" for EA when they work on Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and also as a possible short-term solution to keep everyone happy so there's no QQing about when BC2 will be out.

Seems like we're all in for a bit of beta testing that we pay for. But i'm still happy we're gonna get BF:BC2. I might skip on BF1943 though.
