I also miss the split maps they made in BF:V, where there was above-ground fighting and below-ground fighting (Cedar Falls). Kind of like Titan mode, but imagine if you could actually CAPTURE the enemy's aircraft carrier. Like it would have a flag somewhere on the bridge and you could cap it like a regular flag. It could lead to some good CQC gunfights as well as being able to control the most critical flag on the map, vehicle-wise. Iron Gator was a fun map until they n00bified the claymores, after which it just turned into clayspamland. But the concept was good, and I think it would be great if you could actually board and take control of the enemy aircraft carrier just like you would the airfield flag.

    So many possibilities.

Here's something I absolutely want to see in BF3: Collisions in which vehicle health actually matters!

Case in point: I'm in a FAV capturing a flag. My health is full. I see an enemy FAV zooming towards me. I shoot at it. Being an engineer, I can see its health bar draining.

The FAV rams me at 1/3 health.

    HE WINS.

How the flying **** can a vehicle that's more damaged than I am actually ram me and emerge unscathed? That just makes absolutely no sense. Not when you compare vehicles of the same class.

What I'd want from BF3 is a game that is stable and bug-free (to a reasonable degree) on its release, and that remains supported by the developer for at least several years.

BF2 had 3 addons released, just imagine how much better 2142 would be if they added, for example, a new faction?

Personally I'd like to see a sort of 'sequel' to 2142...

why go back to modern combat when we're not too long removed from BF2? BF2 has become (on many servers) an infantry only game and that's not what i want BF3 to be (if i were them i'd just go play COD4). it's either you play those infantry maps or the other maps where you play the role of prey for air power. unless they can balance things out like in 2142 it will be whore's paradise. i'd much rather have a WWII or Korean war setting where air power didn't trump everything.

according to the poll we did here though: http://www.totalgamingnetwork.com/ma...d.php?t=139846

it does seem like most people want the modern combat setting again.

How curious. I think those who play 24/7 Karkand have some brain disorder.

Ah, Karkand. Even back in 2005 it was the shizz:

There's absolutely no reason to play any other map, unless of course you have some brain disorder which prevents you from making well informed decisions. Strike at Karkand has everything; tanks, buildings, jeeps, trash dumpsters, and a train. A GODDAMN TRAIN!!! Plus there are plenty of rooftops for snipers to climb and perch on for countless hours, until mom gets home and starts complaining about the bathroom being on fire.

Personally, WW2 would be my preference because of how great BF1942 is...with prop planes that weren't impossible to shoot down (and AA that was actually effective), naval destroyers and (movable) aircraft carriers. Yeah, it could use a lot of improvement, but if I had to cast a vote it'd be for WW2. But regardless, so long as it's done well I'll play it because I'm a BF whore. At least I'll play it like crazy early on before everyone settles into a two-map-only kind of game (Gib/Cerbere, Karkand/Jalalabad).

Would love to see an up-to-date version of Bocage or El Alamein, though. *drools*

sad but true, and every server seems to be on it, and when it isnt on karkand, someone changes it to karkand.

i see it the other way around, i dont see how modern warfare can be more fun then WW2.

its just machinegun rrratatatatatatatatata moving forward and tanks that shoot straight at very long range, heatseeking missiles, supply crates and uav's.

everyone just ends up playing in city maps and it becomes COD 4.2 with a couple of vehicles.

if they are making a modern warfare BF game they should at least put some different armies on it, POE for example is modern warfare and its pretty cool because they have vehicles and weapons that aren't in every recent game.

that's how i see it anyway.

to be honest i liked the whole future thing of BF2142 then BF2, at least 2142 has some original cool ideas.

1942 had loads of vehicles that added variety to the game, even being WW2, it had lots of things we couldn't see in other WW2 games

Can be just a modern warfare update with the knowledge of latest weapons.

Really, BF3 doesn't need to be groundbreaking. It only needs to do what BF2 did, only better, with more finesse, a cleaned-up and balanced gameplay, and a good load of maps. That's it, that's all.

Like I said before... you can all wish it's something other than modern warfare, but if it's not modern warfare, it's not going to be as big, or bigger, than BF2...
