Well I've been having some fun getting back into this, and the new widescreen support is great. I'm really pissed off that the same old mouse acceleration issue is still there though, where mouse movement feels a bit skippy when in infantry view even when all forms of acceleration are seemingly disabled.

I remember this being one of the major contributors to me stopping playing before. It's easy to spot when you move the mouse slowly, and it just seems to skip along sometimes. Weird and annoying.

You have XP? You can't disable mouse acceleration completely by default but you can edit the registry.

Download, save to desktop and run. It won't screw up your computer and removes all windows mouse acceleration. If you're lucky it will help a bit with 2142 too :)

I don't think 2142 was ever as popular as 2.. even though imo it's a better game. With Heroes, and now BC2 and 1943 coming this year it's an exciting time for bf players. And oh so many console noobs for us to brutalize

Console players (fagZ or otherwise ) will be on separate servers than PC players simply for that reason. Of course if you were planning on schooling said consolers that's disappointing news, but on the other hand it means the PC controls should at least be like normal PC controls.

i mean i would support console play if i owned a console and yes there is just as much skill in being a top console player as being a pc player but the pc interface is just so much nicer for fps that the competion is just different.

FFoW isn't cross platform lol. multiplatform, yes, meaning that it's available on all platforms (like cod4), but you cant play against consoles. Also, none of the new BF games are going to be crossplatform

Hmm, I'm using Vista but I did find a similar patch. I still get the problem though, so I don't know what I can do really. It just seems that even if I move the mouse really slowly and smoothly, it'll kind of jerk along at times.

I usually find 230+ servers (with players on) the game is far from dead.

Anyone know when the new map is going to hit. That will help draw some people back for a time. I am waiting for it.

It's supposed to be coming with the next patch, whenever that may be.

In fact aren't there supposed to be two new maps coming, or am I misremembering?
