i havent found that many people that respond to you in any way either by talking to them on the mic or typing to them or using the com rose and having your soldier wave his hand around right in front of thier faceComment

Re: Do you use a mic when you pub?
I always have mine ready but I don't usually initiate the conversation unless it's someone I know. If other people start talking and/or mic-checking I'll join in, but I feel like a doofus if I talk into a mic and nobody else responds. :pComment

i was thinking about making a mic squad.
I think mic is the only way to go in this gameOriginally posted by TheRealWolfgangI always have mine ready but I don't usually initiate the conversation unless it's someone I know. Re: Do you use a mic when you pub?
I play while in ventrilo, so i do most of the talking there, however if i have people in my squad that know what they are doing, i will talk, otherwise i look at them as extras and let them roam free. But i always use my mic, just not in game as much..Comment

i use the in game voice all the time. Met alot of cool people that way. Even if people don't respond, most of the time they hear you. I always tell my squad where i am heading and what to watch out for. I have also noticed that once you use voice others will follow.Comment

i can attest that this is true :POriginally posted by Fieldlol ill almost always yell at teammates on the mic even if they never respond i dont mind being the center of the 1 way conversation:laugh:
ya man, you gotta use a mic. i find it boring playing w/o the communication. might as well play single player mode. you can give/take such better directive. and you can verbally point out soldiers, even from a dead body. i hate it when nobodies talking.Comment

Re: Do you use a mic when you pub?
What's worse is when you are squad leader and give lots of verbal commands and information all round long and no one responds. Then at the end of the round your realize your mic was mutedOriginally posted by TheRealWolfgang..but I feel like a doofus if I talk into a mic and nobody else responds. :p

Re: Do you use a mic when you pub?
Pulled that off for a whole round while FRAPSing myself, 'till I realized FRAPS disabled my mike while it recorded in-game sound.
Also had a recent happening when my CO told me he couldn't hear anything I said. I disconnected at the end of the round to go check only to find out I had plugged my mike into the orange port.Comment

Re: Do you use a mic when you pub?
I had a friend with whom i played over 1000 hours of both BF2 and 2142 and only tried with mics once or twice. After a couple of hundred hours it started to feel like 99% of the time we were on the same page anyways so using the mic felt more like a distraction to me.
I don't know why it is but the other times i went pubbing with a mic i always seemed to play worse. I guess i just would've needed more practice with the mic.Comment
