does anyone else think that numerical stats for weapons are NOT useful in determining a weapons real effectiveness?

yeah numbers dont really mean much. and then even if a weapon is numerically nice on a stat sheet its not going to be effective if the person is enexperienced with it.

Agreed, it's about aim and skill not how much damage it can/has the potential of doing.

One thing the Baur does well is work as a trainer.

You handle a heavy assault rifle with a small clip and a massive recoil. Shoot true and you are in business. Miss, and you're in trouble.

With the Baur, you learn to take knee, to do shorter bursts, to aim at the right places and make your first shots count. And when you come back to your usual gun, you are that much deadlier now that you handle and fire your gun properly.

I really like the Baur although it sucks at CQB but at range its a wonder.

i never really got the hang of baur, so it's my least favorite assault class rifle. i don't find too many situations where i need to single shot snipe, and i can't stand the awful recoil in mid-close quarter combat. i guess it suits people who stay further back and like to play in single shot mode.

i always am in the front with the baur, it is a cannon if you control the recoil, but if not it is a pain in the *** fighting with that. it is funny to do that and then get 20 noobs saying you must be hacking as the baur cannot phisicly do that.(at the best moment i had the baur hanging completely still, no recoil and no sway).

yea i'm just not good with recoil, never have been. i guess my next goal is to learn how to tame the recoil of this gun.

a few tips to learn to counter the recoil: go stand close to a wall, and shoot the wall. try to aim at the same spot, if you did it right, you will see one big hole in the wall, of the bullets and deviation drift, if not you will see some out of the rest of the group or not even close to eachother(if you take more distance).
i think you know but if you move your mouse down you counter the recoil a bit.

its pretty much the same as the others, its almost more suited for close range.

you dont have to hang back with this gun. this is a misconception.

You'll do just fine if you go with the usual crouch-scope-bursts routine.

I find it to be a great tool on Titan assaults since I expect one-on-one encounters. In this sort of situation, the Baur's stopping power is a valuable asset.

In my opinion it's one of the better AR's for close quarters, just because of the high damage. Recoil isn't a problem if it's close range

Ya when im not sniping I prefer to use the Baur, makes me feel better about myself because I dont use the Voss
