    Re: Multi-Story buildings

Anyone remember the 16 player version of Warlord (Battlefield 2 Special Forces), still just a 2 story building, but one of the funnest maps ever.

What I'd like to see is an office building with a couple of floors (at the top of a sky scraper) with a cool night skyline of Tokyo or New York and maybe a small part where a wall and a couple of floors are blown open.

Evolve the concept a little with a neighboring building and zip lines and I'd be in heaven.

What I would like to see is have dozens of rooms on the map Castle, in the main Castle. Imagine every room in it accesible? You get all you want. Want some Thompson whoring? Go inside! Want some good M1 Garand med/long range kills? Go outside...

I'm thinking many people would just place betties at the entries and it would be a pure hell. Yet again noobs and jerks ruin things like this.

      Shame...

By using them the way they were supposed to? In this case, it's not the players, its the game.

Or just use bomb squad. :)

Maybe they were worried about map optimizations. Taller maps are much more demanding on poly counts, and loat time...than say, wide maps.

Also, with things like dogs, many story buildings could get hairy. But yea, i would not mind a close quarters high rise firefight.

Warlord FTW!:yay: I love the mansion with the three floors where you can zip-line across to the second floor or grapple and climb onto the roof. It's kind of chaos w/ the fragging and shoties and claymores, but could be a lot of fun. Overall I think BF2:SF got the multi-story combat right! (IMHO the best at that type of gameplay). The ability to access previously unreachable places through grapples and zip lines meant you could never be totally at ease and were always looking up. I’m always on the edge of my seat and it gives the player more options. :salute:

Something like warlord wouldnt be bad, but what made the game more dynamic was that you had ziplines and grappling hooks. In airfield on CoD5, you cant even climb the wreckage of the planes. You hit invisable walls instead.

Thats one of the things I did love about BF2:SF.
