See the console commands thread for the exact location, but I believe the players profile is found somewhere around here (in xp)

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Data?\Application Data\Activision\Call of Duty WAW\Players\Profile_name\mp_config

That's just off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure that's the location.

yeah but how would you actually do that though? because i looked in the program files and it doesnt have a 'players' folder like it does with cod4

You must not have tried a forum search. The config is not stored in Program Files anymore - it has a different path.

The pathway is in one of the sticky threads in this forum section, as well as in a couple threads in the Support section.

I find the hitreg in this game to be very forgiving. There have been plenty of times I've been "headshotted" and the crosshairs were on my legs on the killcam. If the hitreg needs to be improved, it's to prevent random lucky kills like that.

^^ Nope. That's normally lag in the killcam where it doesn't show the user aiming at the single exact spot that he was when he shot. If you've played this game at all, you'd know that making the weapons (especially the bolts) register properly - as in, no disappearing bullets - is more important than fixing those bug-hits or killcam glitches.

Maybe you're not a sniper, but it's extremely annoying to make a shot multiple times in a row and have none of them register. It's happened, and still continues to happen. :dead:

Maybe I've been ruined by BF2... but the hitreg in this game is freaking awesome. Pretty much every shot I take counts for something. I get all kinds of assists when I use the bolt-action rifles because I only get a few headshots per round with them. It doesn't matter to me. The only time I've noticed hitreg issues is with the knives. I stabbed a guy, who was standing still, in the back twice before he jumped in the air, spun around and I died.
But the rifles are registering pretty much every time for me. If I get a clean shot, I almost always get assist points immediately afterward or I get the kill right then.

I totally disagree. The bolt actions are very accurate. They're not CQB weapons. Yuo can easily make neck or headshot with them on a running player. It's a one shot kill to the chest in normal mode WITH stopping power. It's a one shot kill to the chest in hardcore WITHOUT stopping power.

It's perfect leave it as it is. It should be that way. Just try it with a friend, have him walking or sprinting and you try and shoot him from the side. It's alot easier of course if you're relaxed and focused. It seems like it's not one shot kill but you may need to adjust your aim slightly. You may not see it but when you press the mouse botton you might be slightly moving your mouse and hence miss the area it seemed you were aiming at.

I don't want the same problem as in Call of Duty 2 when you would come up in close quarters agains't a bolt action while wielding a Thompson and lose. It's rediculous. It's pretty realistic too. Cause one shot to the chest isn't always going to kill somebody. It'll definantly put him down but wouldn't kill him right away.

Totally agree. Bought this game yesterday (coming from BF2142) and I'm amazed by the number of head shots I'm getting with my weapon (mostly the BAR), almost 25%! Also it's a one hit death when the other player shoots me with his shotty from 10 yards, while looking on killcam I'm still behind a door/wall OMGHAXORZ... .
And after less than 2 hours playing I'm "already" on level 12. Anywayz, in the short time I'm playing it feels almost the same as CoD4, though the maps are not as cramped.

Bradley, I don't think you understand here. There ARE hit detection problems - it's a FACT. Spend some more time with the guns and you might find that there are problems - primarily in hit registry and determining where you hit your target.

I didn't realize this Zuke. I don't recall having many problems. Then again I'm more of a sniper but without a scope. So my shots are usually on target where even a bad hit reg couldn't mess it up :p

But yeah I guess I'll spend some more time with the bolts. I just love my M1 Garand with Bayonet too much to even try getting more XP with challenges on other weapons.

Yeah, you'll see it if you are scoping (easier to see that you are 100% on target) but you can still find problems without a scope as well - the problems occur more with the bolts than the semi-automatics. If you remember CoD4, the hit registry (especially on the R700) was horrible on the beginning, and I've found it to be quite similar at times in CoD:WaW

Yeah the R700 had some nasty hit register problems. I liked that though because it mean't having a red tiger R700 actually mean't you are good :p If you see what I mean. Since it took more skill to get it.

What would you have liked to see for headshot rewards on WW2 rifles ?? Just curious...

Honestly, I really wish there weren't rewards/ranks/etc. lol - but, if it was my perfect world, you'd only get rewards for a gun by getting headshots (not just kills) and the rewards would be a custom skin for that gun.

I'm more of a... "prove how good you are by your score/visible talent/reputation, not by your rank or weapon skin" kinda guy. Just because a kiddie had a gold dragunov in CoD4 did not by any means mean that he was good at sniping - and it was similar for the other weapons.

They should reward you with skins for a KD ratio with a gun imo although this might incite camping.

Yeah well I like it the way it is. Rank just means you've played a while. So does weapon skin. Because you'll eventually get those 150 headshots...

Just thought it was a shame you don't get anything to prove your stat padding skillz with different colored weapon skins :sniperheadshot:
