Problems joining a server

I just installed BF2 a little while ago after getting a new computer that can run it again and for some reason everytime I try to join a server punkbuster kicks me it and it says 'inadequate O/S privileges" .... What the heck does this mean?

Do u have vista???
IF yes
This means you must start Battlefield as Administrator. There are two ways to do this.

1. Right click on the icon and select “Run as Administrator”

2. Right click on the icon and select “Properties”. Select the “Compatibility” tab and check the “Run this program as an administrator” check box. Now you can click the icon normally.

This method can be used with any game that uses punkbuster.

Now I have another problem but this time, it's with BF2: Special Forces. I just installed it and when I try to start it up it pops up an error window saying "mods/bf2/shaders/lightning.fx not found check your working directory and sync your shaders folder before calling upon your local rendering programmer". Any ideas? I uninstalled and reinstalled it when I first got this message, same thing happened.

Also I've noticed I can't rank up anymore... I have two accounts and both progress bars until next rank are maxxed out and I never rank up... ?

You need to install the 1.41 patch after installing Special Forces.

Alright I'll try that when I install it again. After posting that I figured that might have been a solution but i'm busying trying to install a different game and even THAT is giving me troubles. :cry: I just wish things would work sometimes.
