that they didnt just do a sci-fi Cod similar to bf2142 i mean hasnt ww2 been flogged and repeated soooooo many times? did they feel that the main Cod player base would find a sci-fi-ish release to be really lame and wouldnt sell? they really shouldnt have anything to worry about as far as fps games go they really got it down in terms of movment, shooting, hit registry and weapons well maybe the weapons are a tad easy to use but whatever. if they were worried about making an unrealstic game its not like the gaming engine is really about realistic fighting anyways. with sci-fi im not talking about laser guns or anything because personally laser guns are retarded guns in video games that shoot bullets are much cooler and funner imo. but more like cool looking armor and futuristic projectile weapons. idk ill still buy this game when it comes out but personally ww2 stuff is really not my taste at all. either modern or futuristic with this bolt action old *** junk from 1940 it just doesnt appeal. eh i dont know what you guys think.

Re: im kind of dissappointed
I actually would have preferred another modern era game, but there are rumors that IW's next CoD game will be sci-fi. -
Re: im kind of dissappointed
People knock sci-fi down for the futuristic laser weapons and such, but imo, if a sci-fi game was done really well, it would be a massive hit.Comment

Re: im kind of dissappointed
WWII games like the MOH's and COD's were a big factor in pushing the popularity of FPS games in the early 2000's. And there's still a very large fan-base of people who got into gaming back then, but have been waiting for the next good one since the failures of the last couple MOH's, and who didn't like the "spammy-ness" of COD4.Originally posted by Fieldthat they didnt just do a sci-fi Cod similar to bf2142 i mean hasnt ww2 been flogged and repeated soooooo many times?
As Iwantcable said, there are rumours of a sci-fi shooter in the works somewhere down the road. And yes, if they do it right, it could also be very popular.
It's smart to have good quality games in all of the different time periods to appeal to a wide variety of players.Comment

They said from the beginning it was WW2. They are going to do something different for CoD6, so in 2010, that may be what you are wanting. Until then, you have 2142 and CoD4. Personally, Im glad they did a nice WW2 one with some updated things in it. I havent played a WW2 is BF1942.
Wow, 5 whole minutes. Some people can tell if they like a game or not within a few minutes of playing. Good thing you tried it out and didnt waste your money.

More like 2009, IW and TA, alternate each year so release their games every 2 years. They said from the beginning it was WW2. Re: im kind of dissappointed
The idea of a futuristic CoD where you shoot particle beam weapons, etc. sounds very cool to me. Bring it on.
I also did not enjoy CoD5 after only an hour's play time. The venue is the important factor to this game IMO -- it's all about the server config. Now that I've played a small number of hours, I've really learned to enjoy this version.
However, I'm skeptical about purchasing because I really enjoy "normal mode" as opposed to the mis-nomered "hardcore mode". The vast majority of servers in CoD4 and in this demo are set to HC and I just really don't enjoy that.
So, even though I'm enjoying the game play, it's not really that different enough from CoD4 IMO to make it a compelling purchase. But, I don't play CoD daily and if I did, I'd probably think differently and purchase just for the change of pace.
I've grown to enjoy the dogs, btw. Shocking? Well, once you get used to them, they're easily killed. I'm always seeking chokepoints in this game and moving from one to the next and this seems to be effective.
Plus, I actually earned some dogs for the first time and it had been some hard work to get them. Then, the dogs and I went hunting and that was very entertaining. For me. =)Comment

I have already have my server set up and I guarantee you Sonic that the server will not be running HC mode at all.

COD4 put in a HC filter in one of the later patches. I'd be quite surprised if a HC filter wasn't in the full version of COD:WW.Originally posted by SonicPixelHowever, I'm skeptical about purchasing because I really enjoy "normal mode" as opposed to the mis-nomered "hardcore mode". After all the hem hawing about the lack of a HC filter in CoD4 at release, I'm absolutely stunned we didn't see one in the beta here.Originally posted by WhiskeyCOD4 put in a HC filter in one of the later patches. I'd be quite surprised if a HC filter wasn't in the full version of COD:WW.Comment
