The originals were, but I lost track after a while, so can anyone tell me if the new ones are still compatible or which was the most recent version compatible with older system's games? Plz and thank you.

Looks like there are no current PS3's in production that have backwards compatibility. However, you can probably find an older model out there. I'm sure some stores or retailers have the MGS4 bundle out there, and I know that one is backwards compatible as that's what I picked up when it came out. -

Thanks, but I'm only in the planned stages to get a PS3 at this point. I just got a 360 like a week ago, so maybe next year I'll get a PS3 or I'll probably just wait until the eventual PS4 comes out and has complete backwards compatibility. :pComment
