always getting killed in 1 on 1's - help!!!!

any tips please. need help.

in one on ones (eg, suddenly come round a cornor and your faced with an enemy soldier) i virtually always get killed and its annoying the sh*t out of me.

doen't matter what gun i use (i've unlocked most) or how many rounds i pump out on target.

the enemy always gun me down by either just shooting or by falling down and rolling over. i always lose at a distance as well.

i know i'm not that good, but am i not doing something correct or am i just crap?

Your best kit appears to be Assault. I'd start with that...

This may be a silly question but you ARE playing on servers where you get decent ping (between 0-100) right?

I have the same problem. Unless I use the G36C/E.

That's why I fly and drop bombs on people. Much easier for 1v1 combat when you can carpet a hectare.

If you really are from the US, stop playing on european servers because that's what you did most of the times (http://www.spieler-daten.de/bf2_stat...erman04/online)
Your ping is too bad on these servers.
You will improve when playing on servers where you have a ping around 50 instead of 150.

And then of course: practice your aim, don't get nervous in the 1 vs 1

Seriously jsut like these other guys said, alwasy play on servers where you have a low ping. I personally wont play on a server if I have more than a 60 ping to it.

the higher your ping the more you will get owned in 1 V 1.

www.game-monitor.com is a good web interface to use and is faily accurate with ping times.

for a program to use in finding servers close to you which you ping well to check out http://www.qtracker.com/ it takes a little getting used to but its worth it for your issues.

Play on servers with low ping, and practice your aim pretty much. Aim for the upper chest/head if possible, and don't run into the open all the time, use cover and only move with squads.

Know the advantage and weaknesses of you weapon: For example with the m16
- in close encounters: unzommed, fire in 3 shot burts
- distant encounters: zommed, single shot firing mode

the more you play the more you'll get how each weapon works and how to exploit it. Sometimes you should just run for cover when you're engaging an enemy from a distance. Find a path closer to your enemy without him seeing you, then take him down as you have the advantage of surprise + proximity.
Start thinking like that and you'll improve.

Ah, as a newbie you better not rush into battle.
I found it very useful to check the situation first.
Like observing your teammates and your enemies concerning the way they play.
With the time you will get better reading the battle and choosing you tactic according to that.

And join a squad and move close to your squadmates. They will give you support and kills come easier.

Don't try to improve your infantry skills on vehicle servers, you will be distracted by tanks, jets and helis there.
Join IO server so you can concentrate on the important stuff.

Join a clan like combatgamershq.com where clanmates can always help you and train you.

Its not how much you shoot, but how quickly you aim true, and then shoot accurately. 2 or 3 shots to the head will drop anyone.

So the main key is, dont panic and aim first, then fire. You may even take a few rounds while doing it, but thats ok if you kill the other guy first with well aimed shots.

Most of these problems are just your aim probably...

Even if you have a bad ping, you can still play the game.

Just keep practicing, you'll get good eventually.

I find ping a huge issue with me. Dont rely on the pings the bf2 browser tells you, make sure your ping is low in game by pressing tab. Personally I can't kill anything unless my pings below 80.

And practice, practice, practice. It will come quick.

If my ping is higher than 110 i can not hit not thing at all.
