    Yes it is, my other games run fine. I mean I can get into the BF2 or 2142, it's only when I click join server that it crashes.

      I suspect it's some hardware/driver incompatibility. I can't really suggest anything else to do bar reinstall the OS and update drivers.

        I recently added 2GB of RAM but I don't see how that would affect it.

          BF works in mysterious ways. It crashes for the most bizarre reasons. Try turning on memory remapping in your BIOS.

            Ok, I'll check that when I get home thanks Alex. I am running an ASUS P5B board with the 2100 version BIOS.

              I think that worked. Also I noticed in the BIOS that after I upgraded it yesterday that my on board sound was turned back on. I disabled that and turned memory mapping on. I can get in to 2142 fine, and about to test BF2.

                I am assuming you have 4gb of memory and a 32bit operating system. Without memory remapping, the system memory and PCI-E memory overlaps (i think that's the term). It's all a mess really.
