The whole anything above 30 fps can't be seen by the human eye thing has already been argued to death and disproven. The majority of people that I know can tell a difference up to 60 fps and beyond. I hope all of you people touting 200 fps in your games do realize though that your actual rendered frames are limited by your monitor's refresh rate.

The difference it makes is utterly criminal. I haven't had a round with less than 4SPM and 4K/D since. Hitreg is solid 100% of the time even on a full and laggy timeless gibraltar.
i am constantly frustrated by the lag & poor hit reg that i get & i have a decent machine. i've only noticed a slight difference when lowering everything from medium to low, and never any difference when lowering the resolution. my aa is off & view distance @ 100. so 2 questions....

1- how do you "unlock" the fps in the console?
2- what is your view distance?

If it's a constant FPS, then yes. If it goes up and down between say 60 to 100 you will see a noticeable difference.

            I don't know, I think that's a scientific fact there.

              - game.lockFps [number above 100]
              - 100% on the slider. At low graphics though distant objects don't render visually so it's far far far too easy to spot somebody behind cover.

my reason for saying a 50 constant is to give you leigh-way should something unprecedented happen. if you are at 35fps and 2 orbitals go off on top of you while enemies are hopping about all over, you won't fare as well as me with my 50fps. you can never really say with 100% confidence that your pc never drops below x fps, but the higher you keep your average, the higher that anomaly will be.

on that set up i'm not surprised you are getting low fps. whack everything down to low other than view distance. put ur res down to 1024 and you will have solid fps imo

Great info in here with my laptop I get 25-30fps tops on a 40 man titan server. I mostly set everything medium or low but bump the resolution to 1400x1050 I'm going to try and mess with some settings to see if I can get my fps higher.

most important thing IMO is view distance. I would lower everything besides that if you need more fps. And close background tasks, de-fragment HD, clear cache blah blah blah everybody knows that.

turn bloom off it affects fps a lot on older machines.

It's under advanced lighting effects. Bloom lets bright lights "bleed" onto other areas to make it look brighter than it really is.

Back after 3 long months of no posts LOL anyways...

I found that what it really gives you more Fps is the resolution your game is at.

I use Nividia Geforce 7300 GS which is a old graphic card and it causes lag if i put 50% on high.

                              Exmaple: My Old Setting was:
                              1024x768 @ 60 hz
Everything else was on low except Lighting which was on Medium.
On a 48 man server; I get 54 fps average flying gunship and 20 fps near Titan [barely playable laggy]

Now yesterday I changed my resolution back to default which is 800x600 @60hz and BOY WHAT A CHANGE!

Now with my old settings of everything low, lighting medium I get 80-90 FPS flying and 50 FPS near Titan which is playable!

I adjusted the following to medium:: Texture, Effect, Lighting and it still gave me 75-80 fps flying and 45 fps near titan.

Play around with it and see if it improves your fps.

As for the human eye detection of 30-60 fps; i m not a owl or a cat nor a camera; as long as I feel that my game is smooth [for me which is at 50 fps+] then no complaints here!

Resolution can give a huge increase in FPS, but you sacrifice some of the sharpness and image quality since the image will be stretched across your monitor

Good if the game still runs like crap on low settings tho :)
