For any of you looking for a change of pace from BF2142, try out the First Strike Mod. They have done an excellent job with it. Fun maps and fun weapons and gadgets. They have set it up so that squad play is encouraged. Some of the gadgets are only available if you are in a squad of 3 or more players.

The install of the mod is simple. No copying of your BF2142 folder or anything. Just a simple .exe file that does all the work for you and places a shortcut to launch the mod from your desktop. It leaves your BF2142 installation alone. Just download and install the 1.2 Full Client Install and then the 1.2-1.3 patch and you're ready to go.

Be sure to check out their website http://www.fsmod.com/us/ where you can find a manual to tell you about the different weapons and also their forums where you can get questions answered.

Our server is set up so that only 2 players are needed to start the game so no waiting around for that last person to join if you and a buddy feel like messing around on a map. (They track stats but those don't track until there are 6 players on the server.) If you don't like the map you're on, as long as there are 4 players in the server, just vote for a new map.

Battle Recorder and VOIP are running as they are on all our servers. We have been populating it around 9:30-10pm PST each day but you are welcome to jump on any time.

Yep, but the patch is a lot smaller. It's worth it though. Good times.

Thanks for the server Skates, it's nice to see a good FS server on the West coast. I'll have to see if we can't arrange a community game on your server one of these weekends.

I'm glad to see a good first strike server up, good work skates. It's quite sad to see this mod so un-popular, as I believe it to be great fun.
I've been interested in this mod since it's beginning, as I'm an avid star wars fan, but it doesn't have any popularity.
Every time I join the game, it has one server which is populated, but it's only about half full.

I'm hoping to see more people take interest in First Strike!

We'll most likely be on about the same time tonight, 10pm PST. And you don't have to be a Star Wars fan. One of our guys that has been playing it for a long time hasn't even seen the movies. It's just a great mod!

Take a quick peek at their manual for the weapons and gadgets. Also make sure you are in a squad. Some of the gadgets can only be used if you are in a squad with a certain number of members. Plus, you can't pick up kits so it is important to balance out your squad and make sure you keep that medic alive.

Stopped by for abit , but it was empty . It did look cool though . I liked the engeneer kit , and the map looked like it might be fun . Was supprised to see the commander couldnt drop supplies , or do much of anything . Never tried a mod before , so that may be a common thing .

Thanks for the links to the downloads , I tried to load this one before without success . Worked fine for me this time .

No commander. If the SL spawns as an Officer he can put down a beacon and he also has a small UAV that he can use, along with a couple other things. The troopers each get two small scanners that they can attach to anything as well as a drone that folloes them around that is basically a small UAV. The Support can repair and resupply. The Officer can resupply as well. Check out their manual, or just ask anyone in game whenever you have a question. Everyone we have run into has been very helpful. We have had some of the developers on our server and they are a fun bunch to play with and against, and more than happy to anser your questions in game.

We should have guys in the server about 9:30 or 10pm PST for a few hours tonight.

umm my computer doesnt know how to open the full 1.2 file

do you need winrar extractor?

Inside the .rar file is an executable which will install the mod for you. Just use WinRAR to open the file.
