So wrong, you ought to be shot.

The reason why they don't is because they can't. They could make software that is very hard to crack and create hacks, but it would require so much verification and validation, that current servers would be woefully underpowered, client computers would need to be a lot more powerful and Internet connections would have to be a lot faster.

The general rule of thumb is that if you can engineer something, you can reverse engineer it. I'm not saying BF2 was designed well, it's just you'll never really be able to prevent cheats. DICE, PB and EA will always be playing catch up. Oh, most keys bought by cheats as replacements are hijacked accounts.

Just like viruses guys. If you get a virus and you can't fix it, you pay to get it fixed, you buy a virus protection program or you buy a new computer.

It is always a win win situation for the computer guys. Hell I started thinking a few years ago that the computer retailers are some of the guys who spread a virus around.

          PB is GAY! :nerr:

The truth is sometimes stranger than fiction. You'd be surprised what a group of software developers would be willing to do in order to maintain the status quo.

That's not to say virii and other malware aren't coded by blackhats and people with misanthropist tendencies, but when there's money to be made treating the symptoms...

Look at it this way: if you've thought about it, they certainly have.
