I see rumors around the Internet that it uses SecuROM which may or may not be Evil, AND that it only allows you to install three times.
Is that true?

I just stumbled upon this piece of information:

EA's readying an activation de-authorisation tool for release for both Spore and Crysis Warhead:

EA is expediting development of a system that will allow consumers to de-authorize machines and move authorizations to new machines. This system will effectively give you direct control to manage your authorizations between an unlimited number of different machines without having to contact EA customer service.

Please keep in mind that we cannot commit to a specific time frame or give you a date on when this will be available, but it is definitely being worked on.

We hope that this will really keep you guys happy and that you can understand that we have been listening to your concerns and are trying to make as much progress as possible to help you all out as best we can.

I'm still loving it. I love going back to the beginning and playing through again with a completely different style. All peaceful, all aggressive or all centralist.

It really does make a difference once you hit Space.

Yeah I got to space age pretty quickly.. It all went downhill from there.. Too repetitive.. Creature stage is the best stage after that it starts to take on a more tactical approach which doesn't do it's fun and simplicity gameplay much justice imo, I'd rather just play age of empires.. It's a clever game no doubt and the concept of it is brilliant, had they only developed it for online play it would have been perfect... I might play it again but I doubt it lol.. Unless I'm bored I might play around in the creator section, that always kills an hour or so.. I can only imagine how HUGE this game would have been had it been online based.. It would have been crazy..

I highly doubt this is it for spore... if you go through the game you'll notice a lot of features that've obviously been excluded.

• Music Sharing
• MOO-esque 4X/Technological Discovery in the Space Age.
• Tribal Building Designs
• SoaSE/CivIV-esque RT4X/Technological Discovery in the Civilization Age.
• AoE-Esque RTS/Technological Discovery in the Tribal Age.
• Plant creation

I fear the reason they excluded a lot of those is to make the game much faster and more seemless for the kiddies... but - that doesn't mean it won't be included in an optional expansion pack...

We must remember that the creator is Maxis... that means there is going to be thousands upon thousands of optional expansion packs. In the meantime. I absolutely love the Creature Stage. I absolutely love creating everything from point A to point B, and seeing a lot of my previous creations in the Space Age.

I've gone through the cell/creature stage five times now! I even have three full evolutionary lines of creatures from the creature stage. Which is awesome. That part of the game alone is worth the money I spent. <3

I also love kicking the arses of my buddy's creations. I just wish more people would add me/give out their name so I could add them.

• Make sure theres a comma in between tag's.
• Make sure that your creatures/vehicles/buildings aren't too complicated.

Those two things come to mind.

I play it every now and then, I'm trying to become friends with the Grox by doing missions and paying them random gifts... hopefully it'll work but looks like it might take awhilst...

I've also gone out and bought/setup random colonies around the Universe...

I think I'll start a new game and make more creatures and things, I don't really have enough time to make awesome buildings and things, so everything I do is really basic

I've been meaning to get back into the game but Stalker came out. Once I finished that The Witcher Enhanced Edition came out soon after and now I'm playing that. Once that's finished I will probably get back to Spores if only to mess around with it every now and then. It's taking a ****ing age to get through it though, I'm a little over half way through and I've played it for what seems like ages, when will it end!

I'm loving your vehicles, Dairuka. I need to make a note of your Spore name and grab some of them. ^_^

Yeah, I keep getting distracted with Disgaea 3.

Of course, I've learned to play Disgaea 3 only when I'm working out on the treadmill. (PS3 controller + Treadmill = Easy exercising, Mouse + Treadmill = Impossible.)

That means more Spore time! Of course, the most fun I have from spore is going through the game over and over again to make new creature evolutionary lines... just so I can make new tribe outfits, new buildings, new vehicles, new anthems, new space ships... Gods I love this game! It's like God's SDK with a decent game attached to it!

The creature part for me is what'll keep me coming back to this game over, and over and over... Churning out a huge evolutionary line is great - but getting to the space age to see the creatures you've created populating planets is just gratifying! I probably won't stop until whole galaxies are populated with my creatures.
