the 1900's were by no means better than the 2000's. People still swore profusely then too, just not the educated.

I'm American and Swiss, duel citizenship. But guess which country I like better (without looking at my avy and sig )?

Well, there seems to be an epidemic of stupid people who can't show respect towards each other.

To be smart, you first have to know how not to be victim. When you let other folks beat you into a pattern of behavior which will not serve you well in life, you've become a victim. Mastering social norms is important if you wish to be effective in business and other things in life.

I'm a man following the teaching of Jesus and foul language has nothing to do with my faith, so I'm not sure why the title of this thread calls on a specific religious affiliation... I'm pretty sure that many folks don't view swearing and other abusive language favorably, but they weren't called out. That shows a bias against that group selected.

From a faith-based perspective, using foul language only shows a current status of social maturity. There is no call in Christian belief to not use foul language, only not to use God's name to speak evil.

I was in the US Army for many years where I learned quite a few interesting words which I used quite frequently. After leaving the service and obtaining an advanced education I've come to view profanity differently. It now signifies to me that the user has a degree of emotional involvement, as well as showing a lack of thought and vocabulary to adequately deal with the issue.

When I'm really stressed or confronted by adversity, I swear because it relieves the pent up pressure. That should be okay with anyone ... who can't understand that?
I can say, "Shiatty, terd, fark-fark-fark!" with a lot of emphasis and emotion. However, the meaning is obscured by the lack of content. The point which has been elevated is the fact that you're barely in control.

I would be better off saying, "You're a jerk for TKing me for that vehicle. Don't do it again." Then escalate from there. Too often, we start at the end and then don't have any room to maneuver.

So, where am I going with this? Right here: be free and be smart. See you in-game. =)
