Another thing I always wonder is why are there christian clans playing a game that resembles war and flying bodies getting shot? My friend has hell in his name and was banned from there.

I am with you 110% language filters are ridiculous, its for 16+ everyone aged 16+ swears, heck from the age of like 8 you know all swear words, so it is just a pain in the arse

What I don't understand is why players feel the need to spend their time typing their frustration or whatever into the chat. Really, how many of us actually care what they have to say. I suppose that if you spend enough time watching that 15 seconds count down you feel they might as well do something.

I have not encountered servers with strict language filters. I play on a Christian server because it's well populated and avoiding the obvious ones will ensure your safety. But Pie? Dam? k0ckpit? That's kinda sad.

its the point of playing online, or you might as go play single player with bots that dont think and says sh!t. Its kinda of a challenge actually. Knowing someone is swearing at you cuz you killed him 4 times in a row puts some spicy into the game dont you think?

I have a huge vocabulary and yet swear like a Navvie!

Although I admit recently I have become almost as pathetic as the Angry German Kid. Swearing and shouting at the screen. That's why I don't play as much anymore. I can go 30-3 for KDR and still get irate if I am killed.

Christianity was also what made the middle ages a 1000 year long period of practically no new inventions... and people lived a lot more primitive than the greeks did 1500 years earlier

It's the 12 year olds who overuse profanity - screaming "what the **** you mother ****ing **** licking ***** *****!!!!!!!!!!!! AHAHHHHH" - Now that, to me, is not acceptable and I could do without.

However, having somebody say a curse word because they got killed and were doing well, or something didn't go their way - and not ranting/whining about it, that's OK.

I can agree that there is a huge difference with the two scenarios you describe and that while the first one is over the top, the second is acceptable.

Then perhaps what you are looking for is a better language filter. The limitations of the current one is that you have it either look for a specific word or a portion of a word. You can't tell it to only warn/kick/ban if a word is used 3+ times at once or during a 2 minute time period. It's either all or nothing.

If the language filter's presence or sensitivity is attested to somewhere in the server, i.e. if it is part of the server's rules that you're made aware of, then you have no right to complain. Follow the rules of the server you're in, or don't cry about it when you're removed. Playing on servers that other people pay money for is a privilege, not a right.

On the other hand, if there's nothing in the loading screen, scrolling or from anyone worth listening to about what kind of filters are in place, that's unfortunate. If they can't make their players aware of the rules, then that's their problem. Find a server where the rules, if there are any, are made clear. The best tool to protest draconian and idiotic language filters (there are plenty, no argument there) is your feet (err...so to speak). Don't frequent poorly run servers and there isn't much of a problem.
